Any help for someone new to e cigs? I've tried the blu, but they just aren't that satisfying. Do you have to get the best stuff online or will the local smoke shops carry some good stuff????

I don't have any vape shops around my area. Everything I have learned has been online or through trial and error{lots of errors}. If you do the research and watch youtube videos of anything you are thinking of buying you can get ahead a bit. You can also ask here for suggestions along with reading a ton of threads. Everyone will help as much as they can. Welcome.
It depends on how much you are willing to spend. Mods are like cars... you can drive a scooter or a Yugo from NY to California, it may or may not get you there... who knows if it'll break down, and it's not going to be a comfortable trip. Whereas the same trip in a Mercedes Benz... well you can count on getting there without it breaking down or outright dying, and the trip will be a pleasure.
Cheaper mods like an Ego work but they are more like the Yugo. Mods like the Provari are the Mercedes of the vaping world. They cost more but if you read a lot in the forums you'll find many stories of people spending hundreds of dollars and eventually getting a top end mod before they are satisfied and content with vaping.
Top end mods create a MUCH better vapor, excellent throat hit and more "smoking" like satisfaction. Not to mention the excellent flavors that are out there to make it even that much more pleasureable than smoking, or using a cheap cigalike.

Thanks for the quick suggestions. I'll have to do my research then and a little trial and error. Made my first mistake with a free trial offer, but caught it before it cost me money because of one of the threads in this forum. I could have fought that I think because they called me and never made thee disclosure that I would be paying over a $100 for the kit after the trial. Returned the kit anyway. I don't mind buying online I just hate waiting for the delivery, and will not pay the outrageous prices they want for overnight service. Again I appreciate the quick info and the greetings. Hi and welcome! Please tell us a little more about yourself so we can give you useful recommendations - such as how much you smoked and what your lifestyle is like. A person who only smokes when he's out at a bar with friends; a nurse who can only take a short break during a shift; a long-haul trucker and a freelance designer who works at home, all have different requirements.
Your budget is also a big consideration. You will have to buy a power source (batteries), a few delivery systems to try (they hold the liquid and delivers it to the heating element which makes the vapor), a charger and some different flavors of juice. You may be able to find a kit with those components it is, or you may be able to get a better price buying them separately. You can easily put together a good set-up, with everything for around $75.00 (or less)
I strongly suggest you take recommendations to buy the "best," right off the bat with caution. What's the best is subjective and you have to be willing to pay $150 to $200+ to get enough of the above described components to get the benefits. And that would be for the barest of bones.

I agree with the ocelot. I first started with something like a blu, then I had a volt x2 with a clearomizer. I ended up getting an APV. If you do research and talk to the right people, you can learn how to set up your own atomizer. You'll end up saving money in the long run
EDIT: I really wasn't reading the whole post through. If your budget isnt too high its good just getting a decent tank and battery. That should last you a while and should be at least better then the blu. I had my volt with the clearomizer for about 6 months and that was great until the battery was completely dead.

I have found that high nic fluid and a manual 510 has been awesome. Just switched to a smoketech screw tank and have been loving it.
The best advice I can give is FIND A GOOD FLUID! It took me a couple of tries to find a couple of flavors I really liked but it has been great since.

I have found the "eGo Dual Coil Cartomizer and 1000mAh Passthrough battery kit" from Vapingzone to be the best starter kit for people wanting to get into vaping. It's fairly cheap (they seem to always have a 30+% sale on them) at $55, have everything you need with big capacity dual coil cartos that seem to work swell at 3.7 volts (as per pbusardo's review), not to mention passthroughs for all day vaping opportunities for people who are used to having a cigarette whenever they felt like one, in addition to a practical carrying case. They also have a clean look that won't turn new vapers completely off.

As i have only been doing this for a couple of months, I am experimenting still. I started with a ego kit from got vapes, with two upgrade batteries sample juice, and charger with a case. i have since ordered a SLB VV, and a couple of pass thrus as my wife is now enjoying vaping. I can see where the you might need higher voltage with some juices, but the starter kit should hold you for a bit. Good Luck!

Hi again and thanks for more recommendations. As for myself I only smoked about a pack a day more or less. Didn't smoke at home too much because I'm not allowed to smoke in the house. Now that I've quit and am smoking the cigalikes I "smoke" a little more at home. I work construction and just about everyone smokes so that's one place I smoke a lot and when I'm out at the bar after work I tend to smoke a lot too. I really can't believe that I was only smoking a pack a day, but I have cut down on drinking so I'm not inclined to smoke as much as I used too. I do like to light up in the truck though that's one place that will never change. Glad I've found a way to quit though. I started smoking and vaping at the same time and just slowly quit the analogs when they got to tasting bad. Thanks for all the advice and great to meet you all.
I just quit cigs because of blu, but yeah I quickly realized there had to be something better...Ive been smoking Volt for my out and about ecig, thier juice sucks but the cigs and cartos are great quality and super cheap
Found a local smoke shop with GreenSmokes, much better than the blu. Cheaper and a good throat hit.
I personally prefer the full mechanical mods, I love my ea mod. But vv mods are great too, I use the Innokin MVP. But you have to try different models and see what's right for you.
I am new to vaping as well, 3 weeks analog free. I use a eGo-c battery and vision 2 clearomizer. Relatively cheap start up, about $40 with juice. Reading through this post has been informative, as I had no idea there were so many options. Right now I'm satisfied with my setup. I tried a cigalike a few months ago (with too low nic) and couldn't stick with it. So far with this I'm hanging in really well. I've seen lots of recommendations for mtbakervapor for juice and plan to order from them next. Good luck!
you should try smoke to live I use to do blue and had bad experiences with them they only give you 1 year warranty in their stuff usually breaks or stop working after that 1 year smoke to live give you Lifetime warranty it has a bunch of options are you can choose from. from cigarettes to cigars hookahs you name it Name most likely have it
