Recommend a starting equipment kit?

I am fairly new to vaping (2+ weeks) and brand new to vaping mixicology (1 day). Posts and videos in this subforum have already been of considerable help (e.g., recipes, sources of supplies, mixing techniques, cautions, etc.). [A special thanks to the videos of ritalee76!]

I could use some more.

By equipment, I do not mean the PV. [I now have a KR808D-1 and my new DSE801.] Nor do I mean the liquid (PG, VG, LorAnn flavorings, etc.) Rather the "laboratory" hardware: bottles, pipettes, syringes, droppers, measurers, etc. Also organizers.

I've just received my first orders of liquids: 36 mg PG, plain PG, plain VG, and LorAnn "oils". But I realize that I don't have enough of the right equipment to mix it up and store it in. I did think ahead enough to get one empty 15 ml plastic dropper bottle, two types of syringes and tweezers. And I have several 3 ml plastic dropper bottles from a previous order of sampler-size premixed e-liquid. My work surface is a section of my desk covered with a paper towel.

I know I can get a lot of what I need from www.usplastic.com and I've prepared a tentative order, but my funds at the moment are limited and I don't want to get more or less or the wrong size of what I need. I don't want to miss anything either (and have to incur another shipping charge to get it).

As for organizers, currently I'm using a few small (3" round and 8" square) unpartitioned containers I happened to have on hand (plus a neat 2" square tin box included as a freebie from NHaler.com). I'm thinking of getting a tackle box, e.g., the $22 Plano 3500 Size Tackle Box from Amazon.com.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated ... by me (and, perhaps, other DIY newbies)!

I'm with you. I have overtaken the counter of my bathroom with vials, tweezers, cups for cart washing, pipettes, syringes, and juice bottles. I'd love to get my act together (I can't even tell you what my wife has to say about all this!).

I got some cheap plastic stacking drawers from Walmart. Not I am organized and everything has a place.

At least you have the lab equipment. Can you describe yours? E.g., the sizes and sources of your: vials, cups, pipette, syringes, bottles.

(I can't even tell you what my wife has to say about all this!).

Yeah, tell me about it! Actually, my wife was pretty tolerant (and encouraging). She was so pleased that I had stopped smoking ... and that I was having such fun with my new hobby.

Until yesterday that is. The vapor/smells got to her and her chest/breathing feels constricted. It probably was the open bottles of PG, VG and flavoring (especially spearmint). I hadn't even done much dripping and cart filling until Saturday (I had been using KR808D-1 cartomizers).

So ... I'm back out on the patio.

Since there were no directly informative replies here (I do appreciate the two sympatico replies), I went ahead and ordered my stuff (various size dropper bottles, a couple graduated cylinders, some droppers, and storage boxes) from U.S. Plastics (it's due to arrive today). Wish they had had affordable pipettes as well. And I picked up a couple of jumbo pill organizers and a 12''X6"X6" sealable plastic container w/ handle from Walgreens.

Then today, via another thread ("Best place to buy large quantity of unflavored") in this subforum, I discovered the "Ultimate D.I.Y. Kit Gold" offered by myfreedomsmokes.com for $29.95. Seems to be a pretty good deal and to include many of the supplies needed, including small quantities of the base liquds. [NOTE: There is not a direct correspondence between the equipment shown in the photo and what is listed as the kit contents.] For $10 more, the "Platinum" kit also includes 30 ml of flavored juices (10 3-ml bottles). I have no experience with myfreedomsmokes.com and, therefore, can't comment one way or the other on their kits or their service.

[FYI: I had previously seen the $60 "DIY Starter Kit" from liquidxpress.com, but it's all liquids, not empty bottles, etc. And it seemed to me to be overpriced (it's currently out of stock). BTW, I did order some 555 flavoring from them (only source I found) and I like it and their service.]

Sorry about that unintended misrepresentation! I was focused on my specific needs (the equipment). I already had ordered the fluids (including your 555 flavoring), so your kit didn't help me that much (the case would be nice).

It's still out of stock though, right?

Looks like you found it.........I have a platinum kit on the way from freedom. A much better kit than the gold (10 pack of juice) and freedom has been most excellent in customer service.

For a case, I bought the 3 tray tackle box at wallyworld

Walmart.com: Flambeau Outdoors Three-Tray Tackle Box: Fishing & Boating

It shows up on the website as $20 but it was only around $10. It's absolutely perfect for DIY stuff. They have a 6 tray one for 19, but I think I'd rather have 2 of these, if you need the extra room.

Chris myfreedomsmokes is getting a pictuer made of the DIY Kit.. Very cook tool box with all the fixings for a great mixing experience.. he is also in the process of selling each item in the kit seperatly so you can get refills for things that you run out of...
or just get too much use...
