Recommend for me a skinny but powerful e-cig.

Hi!
My Father-In-Law is now interested in the e-cig, after seeing my wife and I use ours.

Like me, like tried one of those skinny cigarette-looking ones a few years back and hated it.

Well, he was looking at literature about the Vuse, located here:

https://vusevapor.com/modules/Security/Landing.aspx

I've got him talked out of those, and I told him I'd ask about one like it. He wants a long-skinny kind of e-cig. He does not like the box shape of our MVP2s that we have.

So, I ask all Ye Gods of Vapor, what is a good long-and-skinny e-cig for a retired gentleman who has been smoking since the Civil War and has lungs of leather? I will be doing his maintenance, charging, rebuilding, etc. I figure to put him a ProTank2 or similar on top of it.

Thanks!

My dad smoked for 40 years and he loves my iTaste vv/vw v3. It's left on the same setting, uses the iClear 16d I believe that comes with it and has no complaints. My dad hated my protank 3 as did I to be completely honest. He liked how I could up the power with having a small shape to the device. So I gave him mine when I got a mechanical mod.

Adding my vote for the iTaste VV V3.

I use mine almost every day with an AeroTank mini - very compact and powerful.
The mini doesn't hold a lot of e-liquid, so depending on how much he vapes you could opt for something a little larger.
Solid unit with an 800 mAh battery.

Sorry about the terrible picture, coffee is still brewing....

Smokeless Image and Halo seem like pretty decent cig-alikes. The only problem is that they're 808. It wouldn't be a problem except that he'll most likely want to move up to something better pretty quickly, which means 510/eGo connection.

If he would at least be willing to use an eGo size, it would make it much simpler. Then he could get a Twist or VV3 to start with and already be set up for upgrading/experimenting in the future. There are lots of choices for toppers that way.

Don't know how old your dad is, but I'm 73, and these are what I use most days.

My point is that the last thing you want to do is sell us old geezers short, and just remember that most of us suffer from an acute case of "get out of the way, I can do it myself".

The VV V3 is a good place to start, just remember that it takes two of them (one on the charger and one in the hand). Just don't be surprised when a month down the road he says "I want something better".

Although you may not want to start him out with the Duck mod... :)

Being, then, a young 65, I use primarily my array of regulated tube mods - and a VV3 and Spinners for backups when I'm either out and about or when doing things that might put my vape at risk of damage.

The mentioned T3S is a fine topper, vapes great, holds quite a bit more than the minis, and looks good on the VV3 and Spinners.

I'd skip the cig-a-likes, too limiting on what you can put atop them, and he's liable to need several of them to succeed - too low a mAh capacity to last long.

I would also point out that 'first flavor' is probably more important than 'first PV'.

Most folks (including myself) want a tobacco flavor that tastes just like what we have been smoking when we first start vaping. Only, that's impossible, and is also the reason that many fail to make vaping work for them. The flavors that seem to have the most success as 'first flavors' are flavors like RY4 (caramel tobacco) or 555 (hazelnut tobacco).

The iTaste vv is a great little battery that packs a lot of features in a small housing. However, such versatility does come with a con; the rather pitiful 800mah capacity. It just won't cut it for heavy vaping, you'd need at least two. It's the main reason why I opted for a Vision Spinner II (1600mah), but the Vision is just a high-capacity battery with variable-voltage, nothing else in terms of features.

I need two Spinners to last me through the day, but I currently am unemployed, so I have more free time than I know what to do with. If you can't vape at work or only during breaks, that significantly cuts into your daily usage time.

Good Job of Talking him out of a Vuse. That is a Terrible Choice. Non-Refillable with a Proprietary Connection. And a Chip that tells you when the Cartridge is Empty much like an Inkjet Cartridge does.

I would suggest either Vision Spinner or an eGo Twist in 650mAh.

As to what to put on it? Maybe Filler Type Cartos would be a Good Choice to Start with.

BTW - The iTaste VV would also be a Great Choice if he is Willing to not have a Round PV.

All I can recommend is a cotton wick rebuildable atomizer. for a couple reasons, the coils on any electronic cigarette need replaced more often than you would think and switching from cigarettes to electronic cigarettes transitions easiest using a cotton wick. The experience will be idealistic and satisfactory.

Oh, I'm definitely going with a rebuildable something. I've been doing coils and re-wicks for 3 weeks now, and I must say, I'm getting pretty mediocre at it. :)

But things will improve with practice.

My folks came to visit us a month ago. My dad is 78 and has been smoking since he was in college, so we're talking 55/60 years. He was interested in my vaping, so I dug back in my vape drawer and set him up with my Halo Triton Tank system for the weekend. He liked it and used it all weekend. When they left, I sent him off with the entire set I had: 3 batteries, 3 tanks, some replacement heads, charger, and some bottles of juice. He hasn't smoked a cigarette since that day he arrived and has already ordered some more juice on-line. I also convinced my sister, who had tried cigalikes and gone back to smoking, to purchase the Halo Triton starter kit and try again. She loves it and is also back off the smokes.
Anyhoo, I think Halo Triton is a good system for starting out, but will also serve well in the long run if you don't want to get more advanced. Product quality is high, it's straightforward and easy to use, and it's one-stop shopping for parts and juice for the new vaper. Customer service is excellent.
