I picked up a Smoktech Telescope from Vapow for $38. It's not the newest version but it is vented. I have to say, I'm pretty happy with it. It's my first mech so I've got nothing to compare it to - but it definitely does the job and, while not really well made, I think it should last a good long time.

Some not-so-nice things about it .. the threads are a little crunchy, there is a ton of glue in the bottom to hold the spring in, there is a plastic washer attached to the end of the spring that, if it broke, might be tricky to find a suitable replacement.

The pluses are that it's nice and light, the threads on the lockout are actually pretty decent, feels solid with the battery in and . .well. . it works.

Mine doesn't work well, there is significant voltage drop and the button gets extremely hot. I have the vented ss version. It also doesn't fire all the time. That is why I am here reading this to find one that works!

If the mech has a eGo style connection with the threading on the outside and a well deep enough for the ego threading on your clearomizer, then it will work well. Otherwise u need a 510 to Ego adapter. The Sigelei mods are getting really good reviews from reviewers that have tried everything. EVERYTHING. They are saying some of them are built as well as the $100+ mods out there easy. I own a smoktech telescope. It feels light. Its not chinsey, but I know they could have done better for a projected market value of $50 when the sigelei mods are selling for 25-40 and they have thick stainless steel bodies and nice hardy switches. The smoktech natural is designed well and works very well right out of the box, with only .3 to .6 voltage drop before sanding the contacts. If I was new to the mech world I'd go sigelei and I wouldn't have my natural today... But that is curiosity. 1 of my favorite reviewers modded the natural by sanding the contacts and stretching the button spring and he seemed to like it a whooole lot. All of the mechs coming out are going to work and work pretty damn well if you know how to spin a proper coil.

But EVERYONE reading thru this thread should know that if you are going to be getting into UNPROTECTED mechanical mods... Then you need either a 2cents4safety fuse, OR, you need to do your research, and get yourself a battery voltage checker, so that you do not overdrain your batteries, and either a VV or VW mod OR a multimeter that will tell you what resistance you've made your coil. If you don't use these precautions then your being neglectful and no one is going to feel sorry for you when your mod button melts or your hand catches on fire. Instead, we're all going to be very angry that your bringing negative light to the vape world by not doing ur studies. :p As always enjoy your vape journey!

From someone that knows nothing about mechanical mods... Can you use a standard tank like a protank or T3 on these devices? Please be gentle... lol

Sent from my GT-P7510 using Tapatalk 2

Im using Protank on GG clone with 1.8ohm heads and tons of vapor once I sanded down contacts and switch :)

The gg clone or KTS is a decent unit they now have it with a flat top cap on it. You can purchase they flat top cap separately if you already have the mod also. The segelei #8 is a solid unit the #13a also is. Segelei us due to release some newer ones soon and couple I saw on their website looked very nice and better constructed.
