hi guys, i've been reading these forums for a while but just became a member today :)
i've been vaping smokeless image for 2 months and am in love with it. i just ordered the new ce3 carto's and chocolate and ice menthol juice. I've found my nic level at 12mg and am a happy vaper.

What i'd like to know is, if i'm to upgrade to a larger ecig (currently using the small cigarette size) whats my best option for a "premium" setup?
i've done the "try it to see if i like it" stage i'm now looking for the "yeah i'm a pro" unit :)
cheers

In my opinion, there is no such thing as a pro unit. As I am sure you have seen reading the forums, everyone has what they prefer. Some the twist, others provari, I happen to like my BB. The list goes on to cover just about every type of device made.

If you are happy with what you are using that is the most important thing. If you are wanting to upgrade just to "keep up with the jones" then you will most likely never be happy, as the next big thing is just around the corner.

The "Yeah i'm a pro" unit LOL I'm still looking for that unit myself man haha It's all about what suits you the best. You'll find it! It might take you some trial & error but it's out there. Welcome to the ECF forum by the way. I have a provari and really like it but i find mysel leaving it at home and sticking my Ego-c Twist in my pocket as i'm walking out the door. It's not too big, not too heavy. I like it pretty good

What do you mean by a "pro" unit?

There are a couple of steps you can take. First, you could get the smokeless image X2. It's the same exact thing as a kgo except 808 threads. That would allow you to use your existing cartos and ce3's as well as experiment with LR caros and clearos or tanks. I use my x2 with the new 3ml bottom coil ce3 (same as the one SI sells but hold 3mls), the new t2 clearos that hold 2.4ml with replaceable heads and the Vivi nova.

You could also go to the ego twist. Altsmoke sells it for $26 for the 1000mah version.
The only thing with that is you would not be able to use your current 808 cartos and ce3 without an adaptor.

Or you could jump right to a mod like the vtube from apollo ecigs $55 after coupon or the provari. I have a provari, but as another poster said, it is very heavy and doesn't leave the house. I am too worried about dropping or even worse, losing a $200 mod.

Everything depends on what you are looking for. A lot can be accomplished with a 900mah or 1300mah x2.

Whatever you do, don't buy an ego unless it's an ego twist. The ego has less voltage than your mini smokeless image batteries and you will be very disappointed.

If by "pro" you mean best quality, great performance and most recommended
go with a Provari. There may be other top notch units out there for more money,
but as an everyday workhorse it hits hard and will last a very, very long time.

It was hard to drop the 200 bucks for my first PV but it is all I'll ever really need.

Of course I had to purchase a couple back up ego batts and still want to check
out new APV's but really with the Provari being as dependable, sturdy and
effective as it is, it could have been my only PV purchase.

That said, for 25 bucks each I could have had more than 8 ego c twists which would
surely last me for "many" years. But they weren't available when I started vaping.

But nothing I've tried yet hits like the Provari does. Never one regret with
my first purchase. Best money I've ever spent.

There are some very nice Russian made mods on the market now.
Check out MartinC's collection, it's astounding! He frequents the "Canada" forum.

Here's a thread he started, check out the shiney's....

Welcome to ECF!!

Changing your setup, a new PV would depend on what you're looking for more of in your vaping experience. Longer battery life, more power for hotter vapor, just to look less like a regular smoke, less drop-off in performance as the battery discharges...each might have a different path for you to try.

There's always lots of new items available, but after 2 years of vaping I don't find I need to chase them anymore than I would have changed my brand of smokes if a new one was introduced...:)

If the word "pro" means quality made with many advanced features and you can vape any atty or carto on it and it will hold up for the long haul, there are not many in that category and none, IMO, in the $45 - $50 range. Using the word "pro" as I just defined it, I would want my PV to do the following:

1. variable, preferablely wattage over voltage, but either will do
2. power regulated
3. boost circuit or similar circuitry so every inhale is the same from fresh off the charger until the battery dies
4. long battery life even for heavy vapers, somewhere in the 15 - 20 hours on a charge
5. a switch regulator that can handle any atty or carto, 3.5 amp or more
6. a readout of volts or watts, amps and resistence
7. a warranty of 2 years or longer

There are a few other features that would be nice like being able to vape and charge at the same time but not a necessity, IMO. I think there are only 2 - 3 models that fit these features.

Not sure what a “Pro” e-Cig is.

But I’ll say this. If your thinking of getting a New PV, consider getting a VVPV. Which one. I dunno. How about the one that fits best in your hand?

My First VVPV was a Glorified Garage Door Opener Box Mod. It worked but I hated the feel of it.

A friend Raved about how great the Darwin was. Thought it Looked Funky. Put it in my hand, Hated the way it felt.

There is a Small army of people here on the ECF who Love Wood REO’s. Never like the looks of them.

Got a Provari. Love the Feel and Looks.

Maybe what I am saying is that part of what makes a Great PV to me is something that I like Looking at and Feels Good in your Hand.

EGO Twist replacement batteries x2 from Altsmoke.com with a charger. Vision Vivi Nova tanks to vape out of. DONE.
By pro I assume you mean an APV an adavanced personal vaporizer - such as the provari, the lavatube, the apollo v-tube, the silver bullet, among many others. I am here to convince you that you should get an EGO Twist instead because there is a 90% chance that will be all you need and it costs far less than any of the APV's which are overpriced and overrated IMHO.
