Greetings, human earthlings :p

Ok, so I'm currently running iClear16's on an Ego Twist, and they are a great improvement over the rubbish CE4's that I started out on. I'm only on my third week of vaping, so still with the cheaper gear here.

But I feel I should move up a step. I'll run it off my existing batteries, I'm concerned about flavour, consistency of vape (no burnt tastes) and longevity. I'm thinking maybe I should try something bottom coil?

What I find with the top coils is that they take a lot of washing and dry burning etc. to keep them good, they tend to be a bit inconsistent. I give the iClears about a 7 out of ten. Not bad, but I feel I could do better.

I have some tobacco juice and cherry juice arriving in the mail this week, and would like to experience the full flavour and vapour quality of these.

Was looking at Mini Vivi Novas, but seems they're a bit old hat now. What would you recommend? I don't need to go right up there with price etc. but a step up might be good.

Thanks in advance.

I started the e-cig thing about a year ago to try to cut back on smoking and used the eGo kit with the vivi nova tanks. It lasted for about 2 months and then was back on the cigarettes.

I just started back up two weeks ago with the same ego batteries and got kanger aerotank mini. The aerotank is magnitudes better than the nova's were.

I liked it so much I got a regular aerotank and have another on the way.

All I wanted really was consistency and something simple.

That's all I can really add.

Aspire Vivi nova is good, better than iClear IMO (some would disagree), but I think the answer you're looking for is Aspire Nautilus mini with the BVC (stands for Bottom Vertical Coil). They're pretty much the top you can get without rebuilding right now and all the wicking material is ceramic fiber, so no worries about dry burning them.

I'm enjoying my new Kanger Aerotank V2. It's a dual bottom coil with an airflow adjuster. Solidly built. I run it on an Ego-C Twist. It's more expensive so I still have 4 Evods so I can change flavors and I take them to work during the day. But I enjoy getting home and filling my new Aerotank with my fave liquid and relaxing with a good vape.

Aha yes the Nautilus with its vertical coils.

Is the Nautlius mini as good as the Nautilus?

This looks good. Although the price jump is a little bit. I'm gonna wait till I get paid at the end of the week maybe and try one out. I wonder whether I can keep these iclears going until then? It'll be a test.

xwap - I haven't heard good things about the Aero to be honest, but I'm gonna go off and do a little research on it. Thanks for the tip.

In my experience, smaller tanks of the same model just work better (more consistent) but I can only offer a theory as an explanation: less air inside the tank when they are nearly empty, so they won't over-wick as much. I'd say the mini works better as I have experienced some flooding issues with the regular Nautilus and never a single problem with the mini (plus you might still get a regular Nautilus with the BDC coil instead of the BVC).

I have tried the Aerotank at vape shops... it IS a nice tank, but still not up to par with the Nautilus IMO. It does have a more continuous control on airflow, but tighter draw. It's really a question of preference on airflow I think... When fresh off the analog sticks, it could be a good stepping stone before really appreciating the Nautilus, or it might not. We're all different. In my case, I just stuck with Aspire for standard tanks so I didn't have to get too many different types of coils... one non-negligible factor in the long run.

That is the big thing there, and being a subjective issue, hard to really give advice other than a personal opinion.

I'm not familiar with the other tanks out there on a first hand basis, so I can't speak to those.

Yup, all we can do is share our own experience, but I wouldn't have my great setup without researching other people's opinions...

Yeah xwarp I know what you mean. I want just a tank/clearo and VV battery just so I can make minor adjustments. I can't see myself going into the heavy duty rebuildable mod stuff for the near future. Simple, but of best quality, is what I'm after.

I'd prefer to spend my time and money trying out different juices, once I get the setup sorted. Can't wait to try some of the other flavours, I've only tried three so far.

You may even want to step up with your battery. Nothing against the ego-twist, but it is kind of cheap and has repetitively low wattage output. To answer your question, I recommend something with a resistance that isn't too high. Kangertech Protank 3 Mini is always nice, and would go well with the twist. Don't get any tank too huge for a twist.

The MPV2 caught my attention. I reckon that and the Mini Nautilus sounds like a promising combo. What do you reckon?

I reckon that is a very excellent combo! You get to skip many beginner steps while still having the pluses of an intermediate to advanced setup and the flexibility of getting into RBA's at a future date all the while not spending a fortune. Truth be told, I think this should be everyone's second setup.
