If you charge the Red Dragon overnight, you will damage your battery. Just charge till the light turns green and then take it off the charger.

The good thing about them is they're small and portable and look like a cigarette. I have a car charger and 2 wall chargers and rotate 3 batteries with mine.

The bad thing is the short battery life.

I wish they had a non-PG cartridge available, but I've been popping the tops off and topping off with non-pg liquid.

They ship fast and are good about replacing things when they fail, I've had a charger break and a couple of batteries go bad and they get things right out to you when you have a problem.

Can't complain about their customer service though I wish they had a phone number. They respond to emails quickly.

Im going to get this as my first e-cig.

Is this a recommend buy?

I like it that it has the atomyzer build in.

Can sonmeone recommend a juice with it and where to buy it?

You sound just like me in the beginning - looks like a real cig, atomizers built into carts, etc.

I tried the Red Dragon and sent it back in less than a week and got a DSE 901, which I really like. The three pieces are not as scary as they may first seem.

The RD batteries are $27 a piece - seems really high - considering both of mine died in the short time I had them. Replacement part cost seems too high. Not to mention, there are not many dealers, so chances of you needing something and being able to get it right away are much smaller. Especially, with the FDA cracking down at the border.

IMHO - there is a better value out there for your money.

Best of luck to you and welcome to the club! :D

Red dragon e-cig + dripping Johnson Creek Tennessee Cured e-liquid = ridiculous vapor and power throat hit

Oh, and I did get my replacement battery from red dragon and a new charger and it's thus far holding up pretty well. I didn't think I would but I find myself using the red dragon more than my 901 so far.

HI I could get the Tenessee Cured liquid from Amazon.

The normal and Cured.

Now I have a problem. I dont have an e-cig for it.

the website from buy red dragon doesnt show any payment option for me.

My shipping address is in the US but since billing isnt the cart says "we dont have any payment options" or something similar.

Does someone know where i can get the red dragon? Amazon doesnt has it.

I now ordered the liquid but dont have the e-cig which will be my fist one.

I also wonder if I did a mystake by ordering the the Johnson Creek Original Tobacco Smoke Juice as wel. Whats the difference with the cured one?

Wow it seems like the red dragon is a good buy because of the new atomizer in every cartridge, but I was wondering before getting this, if anyone knows of any more e-cigs, that like this one looks like a real cigarette, and uses no liquid to refill, but instead just new cartridges with a new atomizer each time?

Really what I'm looking for is an E-cigarette that just looks real, and each cartridge is like this with a new atomizer and is cartridge replacable instead of liquid refill, and where each cartridge lasts a long time. Any suggestions guys?

Hello Im new like you.

It seems there are 2 china plants, one is ruyan and one e-cig.

The fist e-cigs come with all parts indivually and the ones from e-cig are the ones that are 2 parts only. Battery and carts with atomyzer build it.

That one would be the red dragon and all that have 2 parts as far as i looked. So yes I will get just like you the one that has the atomyzer build in, you dont have to get them atomyzer or worry when they stop working.

But the carts will be a bit more expensive because of it.

As for refill, the carts are actually not made for refills. Th idea is you get carts when you need more. But just like printers people decide to refill it.

Yes, red dragon can be filled as well, there is a video from user "nem" here that shows it.

But its absolutely not necesary. You can go just with carts if you want. I will refill them because:

a) It comes more chepa
b) The carts that come or can be bought dont taste that good. If best to find a liquid that you like and you can drop it inside the carts

I bought a Tennesse liquid from Amazon since they said Red Dragon (which is also e9 on e-cig.com) doesnt have a hit. But if you put the tennesse liquid on it, it does.

The liquid is just nicotine.

I would suggest you get this as well and you can try it. It only requires 3 to 5 drops. If you dont just get yourself tons of carts from different flavors and see which one you like.

This is all comes from reading the forums. I dont have my yet.

I just got the red dragon and I pretty much agree with what everyone has been saying. Great customer service, quick shipping. Great amount of vapor, the thoat hit with the marlboro is ok but could be better. I'll see if it gets better when I get some juice to refill it with. The only thing that bothers me is the switch cutoff seems really short on this one.

Im still waiting their email reply.

About the cutoff everybody mentions. I have read 3 seconds.

Why isnt 3 seconds enought for must? I mean im just smoking my analogs now and i never suck more then 1 second. 3 seconds would be allot of smoke to me. I actually on each puff let the half come out again.

Do people really suck so long on real cigarrettes? I have also read you can make short puff, 2 seconds, once you have the trick it should work.

I suppose the cutoff is in place to prevent somethings, like longer battery and cartridge, or that people just take to much nicotine at once.

Not sure. But it seems most people are happy with their red dragons. I just cant wait to putt my hands on it. Oh, make that lips better.

So I just got my first e-cig today, Red Dragon, and have to say that I am impressed with how close it is to actually smoking cigarettes.

I figured I would share my likes and dislikes so you all could get a feel of my first experience with the RD.

Likes
Size - Almost like the real thing.
Flavor - I got the Marlboro flavored and although it doesn't really taste like Marlboro cigarettes to me, it still has a nice sweet tobacco-ee flavor that is enjoyable.
Nicotine Satisfaction - I find that this device gives me what I crave. I get all the things I love about regular cigarettes and I don't feel like I'm settling with a crappy substitute.
Easy to Use - I'm sure most, if not all e-cigs are probably easy to use, but I thought I would throw that in there just the same. :)
Shipping
- Ordered it on Tuesday night, got it Friday morning. (2 day delivery.)

Dislikes
Weight - A little bit heavier than a real cig. Almost dropped it while driving, but I think it is something I can get use too.
Hit - This one has me concerned. I get about a 60% - 75% hit ratio with this thing. Sometimes when I puff on it, it doesn't light up at all (hard or soft puffs). I'm not sure if I am doing something wrong or what. I have tried both batteries that came with my kit; same results. I have tried different cartridges; same results. If anyone can help me out with this one, it would be much appreciated.

But overall, I really enjoy my Red Dragon. I just wish I could have better hitting results than what I have encountered thus far.

Hi Falcon.
:)

Im glad you like it. I was wondering how it would feel regarding real cigarrettes regardings puffing, since some said since its vapor is misses the thickness but i can live with that.

This is another one that is happy with his RD.

I also think its a nice unit because the atomizer is build in which leaves you with less things to worry.

As people here recommend on the forum, there this an extra battery with last longers. About hit you should get the Tennesse Creed e-juice which people here says it gives a nice hit and tastes good too.

Im happy you like it. Im more and more jealous of all you guys since i dont have it yet and I really, really want to drop this analog cigarrettes now since more and more people say they like it and the worst ones said its not the same but you get used to it, so regardless of how people smoked before the success rate seems very high.

About the size Falcon. Now there is a new unit it seems, the E8 which is shorter then the E9. E9 is the Red Dragon.

The E8 is the shortest in the market and its like a real size cigarrette. I suppose since its shorted it weights less too but I could not find any more info like reviews on it, except that its a little more expensive it seems.

I am trying the Red Dragon's and like them very much so far. I am impressed that you can get a cart to last a week ???
Regarding refilling them:
1) what type juice do you use ? (I am new to ecigs and only use med or light carts so far....have never tried refilling a cart)
2) Does the atomizer still work when you drip through it ??
3) I have heard you really have to be careful and not get a nicotine overload. How many drops do you use ???

Well, they replied my email and i just ordered anyway putting my billing as the US. They said they could only ship inside the US which was my intention from start but paid with my international Visa.

no problem, they approved my order so its on the way now.

As for the Red Dragon review, i will post my when I get it.

JoAnna, nicotine overdose is not like alcohol or drugs. You dont die of it. In case of nicotine overdose you will get headche and bad feeling in stomach, maybe some swetting as well but nicotine OD is not serious.

you can get it with analog cigarrettes as well if you smoke to fast or one after another. you will know when its enough.

As for refilling, I have no idea how its done or much it last. Take the look on the video review section. Nem has put a video there where he shows how to refill it.

You can try to of these juices:
Johnson Creek Original Smoke Juice - The Best E-Liquid in the World - Made Right Here in America

Us made and they are the best currently.

I hope that helps. Got my from Amazon.

I've had a Red Dragon for 2 weeks now. I liked the ammount of vapor, but not the throat hit. (Can't Get No Satisfaction)

Bought some JC's 24mg Tennessee Cured Smoke Juice. Dripped per some youtube instructions. (Url link blocked until I post 15 times)

WOW, now that is GREAT!!!

Done with the evil tobacco smoke. Thank the Lord for e-cigarettes.

Was a pack a day Marlboro lights.

I've had the RD for a couple of weeks now. It has some interesting and unique features, but in practice they aren't really any advantage (in my opinion).

Pros:
New heating element (atomizer) in each cartridge.
Lots of batting material and liquid in each cartridge.
Lightweight battery.
Metal mouthpiece fully wrapped in paper, with rubber end.

Cons:
Draw time is very short.
Soft rubber endcap on mouthpiece effects flavor.
Odor of vapor lingers for a long time.
Smell of vapor is foul.
Odor/Smell of cartridge remains even if refilled.
Heating element is very simplistic.

My biggest problems with the RD are the draw time, the lingering odor, and the simplistic heating element.

Having taken apart a cartridge, the heating element is very simplistic and light duty. It is clear that this is the reason why the draw time must be so short, or else the heating element would likely just break/fail if it was under current for more than a couple of seconds.

The heating element is a single gauge wire with a few coil winds in the center. It is placed in the center of the batting material, and also has some insulation material on the wire itself just before and after the coil winds. I don't see how this design wouldn't frequently cause burning of the insulation material or the batting. Other designs have the face of the heating element .... up against the batting material. The RD has the heating element heavily wrapped in the very center of the batting material.

On the plus side, I don't see how the heating element in the RD could ever clog, since it is just a wire with a few coils wound into it.

Has anyone else found the vapor odor to linger much longer than other brands?

I have also taken apart a RD cart just o see the tech, an agree it is quite simple and looks flimsy.

I have also burnt out a few of them experimenting, getting the burnt taste of death when they are dried out.

Now I have found that if I rotate 3 during the day by dripping about 6 drops of smoke juice in the threaded end of the carts, they will last (10 days so far). The key is not to let them dry out and not to drip on the flimsy wire.

They produce great ammounts of vapor with the JC Tennessee Cured 24mg, and I am a happy vaper.

How much times can a cart be refilled before you have to trow it away?

And how you know when the time has come to buy or put a new cart?

10 days for a cart? A week? Some said 5 refills. It seems it really depends.

I smoke 5 to 7 analogs a day usually. Never over 10.

Arent there blank carts for Red Dragon?

It seems RD dragon is the E9 and some other cart should be compatible.

Red Dragon is a Branded E9.

Friends who have bought E9 from e-cig.com have the same carts that I have. They however can order 24mg carts from e-cig, while RD only offers 16mg carts.

My opinion is that RD has some quality control in place while e-cig is questionable at best.

If you try to start some routine based on how much you vape, this will answer your question through trial and error.

First off when the flavor of the cart starts to change, stop using it immediately and put is aside until you can recharge it. Always carry a spare cart to avoid burnout, which is irreversible.

My experience is if you keep them moist without dripping on the flimsy wire or clogging the wire insulator, you will have a good time vaping. 6 - 7 drops on the hole of the threaded end works for me.

Cheers

Well I still dont have my RD. Will be here in another 10 days or so.
Only ordered basic package which comes with 4 carts.
And Tennesse Liquid.

It will take me 10 days again to receive new carts so I have to plan in upfront so I dont end up without vaping.

I suppose i can hold up 4 weeks with it, since I dont smoke that much but i think i will since like all new things you start trying different things which will probably lead to a more faster burn out.:thumb:

I would be nice if someone puts a video instructions on the RD filling since you all say you dont have to drip the wire.

About the taste? Is it so intensive that you taste it when its weaker? I mean, will i taste it when it starts to dry out or burn?

Two ways to drip a RD cart.

1. Pry off the white rubber mouthpiece end with a thin screwdriver or something similar to expose the cart material and drip while holding the cart at an angle to avoig getting the liquid on the wire or in the insulater tube. You can watch how much liquid it takes to wet the cart material this way. The rubber end is glued into the cart from the factory, so this will cause some problems down the line if you are not careful when replacing it.

2. Just drip down the hole in the threaded end, 6 - 8 drops to be safe. You can tell when the cart begings to dry out by how it tastes. when it stops tasting good (weak) or produces low vapor, stop immediately or you will burn up the cart. No way to fix a burnt cart.

Keep them wet with liquid without drowning them and you will vape happily. This will prolly be trial and error for you, so be careful.

Esmoke sells the same carts as the RD (E9-except Cherry and Marlboro) and they ship pretty quick. Got mine in 4 days.
