it takes seconds for an unprotected battery to get red hot before exploding.
Today one of my two green 3 volt batteries from Deal extreme did get really hot in the chuck.
I unscrewed the bottom cap and burnt a thumb.
Got a blister now.
If you sense heat , do not attempt to open the PV, just leave it alone until cool.
Damn these batteries to eternal hell...the Tenergy trip most of the time and the unprotected ones are dangerous if faulty.
The solution is obviously to try and detect a faulty battery before it gets hot.
I'm gonna start wearing a protective mask and gloves when vaping now!!
