I have seen a number of video reviews of higher voltage devices where the reviewer said something to the effect of, "vaping at 5v made me finally like cartomizers."

Several weeks ago, I ordered some Boge 2.0 cartos to try on my Riva batts and quickly discovered that I didn't care for them at all. I apologize for the off-color metaphor, but to me they were the vaping equivalent to having sex while wearing four condoms at once. Everything was just...muted.

I tried them again on my first 3.7 mod (Icon from Puresmoker) and they were a little better but not much.

It occurred to me this morning that I had never screwed one into my USB 510 passthru. What a difference, much, much better. Now, I run the passthrough right off of my PC since the AC adapter I got to go with them (I have two) inexplicably doesn't function with the passthrus. I have no idea what the true voltage is off of my PC but it is clearly higher than 3.7 (side by side comparison against the Icon with a fresh battery). My PC has an upgraded power supply to run a gaming grade video card so that may make a difference. I'm not sure.

I may finally get my own 5v box mod in the mail today but, alas, I do not have any higher ohm cartos than the 2.0s at the moment. Although I do still plan to mostly drip, being able to finally enjoy cartos is something I am looking forward to. If nothing else, I do drip and drive and I would rather stop doing that.

You really should try the higher ohm cartos at 5v, they will be better than the 2ohm ones, also be careful running that PT off of your computer, there are some cheap AC-USP adapters out there that work fine, not worth risking your computer on the PT and frying your board. Issac over at Ikenvape.com sells a Mega cartos that is a KR8 and it is very good at 5v and holds much more juice give em a try

jFoobar , higher voltage with higher resistance seems to work better for most people , LR attys are great for 3.7 volts or a single battery but they are not the best solution IMO.
to be clear 5 volts @ 2ohms = 12.5 watts , most likely your 5 volts is NOT 5 volts it depends on the passthru design ( some have a battery in them others do not ! ) USB voltage is 5 volts +/- 20 % or so , what voltage you are actually running at has to be measured under load .

Anyhow you are getting a higher wattage in any case and that is giving you what you want ! .
