I'm so excited, just gotta share even though this isn't the right place to do so, LOL.

I just registered for a national smart car event in July, in Denver Colorado. Registration + Hotel Room reservation cost about $750. Add $350 in gasoline, plus eats for a couple weeks, plus souvenirs and what have you ... dang, I hope to have the $750 charge on my CC paid off before departure.

I haven't been to Colorado since 1994.
Pikes Peak climb in a new 1995 Dodge Neon

Three months to go. I haven't had anything this close to a vacation since 2007. Whooo Hoooo.

So, please excuse the off topic post. :)

hey.. no prob - glad you're getting a vacation. So.. where do you get the remotes to run those cars? and do they come with the key to wind em up?

sorry.. hubby's 6'8" and I'm 6'2" - we don't test drive, we try on cars.

ROFL that is funny Opal. That is part of the story as to why I drive an FJ. Saw a modified one at a used car dealer had a few minutes so stopped in just to see if I "fit" in the vehicle. I did and the next day it was mine. I'm not super tall just 6'3-4" somewhere around there anyway. So I know what ya mean about trying on cars.

Well your trip sure sounds like it will be a good time NCC. You gonna drive that thing up this way so we can check it out on the 20th? hehehe

How is everyone doing? Hope good. Well the fridge that was supposed to be on the delivery truck for us today never made it on the truck or on the truck from the distro center to ship to our Lowes. So needless to say we have been 12 days without a fridge and had to go and select a different one that will be delivered tomorrow morning now. We ended up getting a little nicer one for the same price so worked out in the end. Hopefully anyway, will find out tomorrow......:D

Same thing happened to us when we moved in to this apt. We moved in just as the management went on Christmas holiday for two weeks. Drinking warm drinks sucked. Then they replaced it with an old wobbly, loud as hell pos. Gotta go against food safety rules and keep raw meat on the top shelf so it stays at proper temp and don't spoil so quick. misery

Trust me, I'm used to people kidding me about my car. I guess that's part of the fun of owning a smart, heh. But, for what it's worth, it is bigger inside than outside ... the Tardis Effect. Head and leg room about equal to that of a Toyota Tundra. Miata cramped, BMW Z4 cramped, smart fortwo not cramped. And, it's a tall car ... so you're not looking UP at everybody in traffic. Oh, I DO have a remote (for the sound system), and one of the guys does have a wind up key on his car. We have fun with them. Thanks for the well wishes. I've spent $750 already and won't be leaving for almost three months. Gas should cost about $350 for the whole trip.

I hate to say yes, because last time that didn't work out too well. In the end, it will depend on my work schedule. I hope I can give y'all a chance to poke fun ... and maybe take a seat, so you can see how all the clowns fit in there.

NCC yeah I'm sure ya do catch some flack on driving the smart car. Heck I catch some for driving what I drive from some ppl mainly Jeepers. The first time I was close to a SC was I think back in 2009 one of my Wife's friends has one. They were talking about how "cute" it is. Then the owner said ya well listen to this. They got in and put it in reverse the sound it made almost made me piss myself laughing. Its all in good fun though.

Yeah when ya come up for the meet we will have to pull up to each other front bumper to front bumper and snap a few pics for each of us to add to our photo collection. That 350 in fuel would just about get me to Denver.

We'll probably have the van at the meet.. A/C on the fritz in the truck and it really is not economical on gas - read.. drinks it like a greyhound on race day.

My dream car would be an ancient station wagon.. late 60s - early 70s land yacht.. the quintessential MOM car.. who's old enough to remember the 10 passenger wagons with the little jump seats in the *way back*?

You could put a 4'x8' piece of plywood in the back of those things between the wheel wells! Bench seats.... leg room that could not be rivaled and still could get around 25 mpg on the highway (doing 75-80) in the V8s.. more in the slant sixes.

Ford would be my choice but plymouth, dodge or olds would be awesome too. The back set of plugs on the chevy's were too hard to get to for changing.

just the thought of those old classic cars makes me want to go whip my van with a hose.

Likely not as much flack as I would driving a Dodge 2500 truck, heh. Hell, my Hummer friends would never let me live it down. Everybody needs to drive a mini Semi. Good lord, why would anyone want to drive a vehichle that weighs less than three tons?

I stopped by the new store in Pace on Saturday and I was going to buy another vivi nova tank since they didnt have the replacement coils for them. Till I found out how much they are charging for them. 25 bucks plus tax. I told them no thanks. They are sold at sams for 12 plus tax. They will not last long with those prices. Just a heads up.

Hey James,
Ya both Sams and the Rollin EZ locations all have the Vivi's for $12. They also have DCT tanks for $10 I believe. Hope you can make it to the meet on the 20th.

Scabby don't worry about talking to Sams about juice, think I got that taken care of. :) Might also get a starter kit or something to give away and stuff so we should have some things to raffle it sounds like. :D

Hope all are doing good. Well the new fridge was at the house at 7 a.m. this morning. Guess they felt so bad about not having our other one we ordered that they brought this other one first thing!! Wasn't expecting them that early...... But hey the beers are cold now!! hehe

Alright guys and gals, talk to ya all later.

Of the stuff Dallas(Sesshomaru) bought at Sams it seem they have decent prices. He bought an 510 atomizer for $2, I haven't even found one on the internet for that price. If they increase their inventory to include some of the more recent vaping products then they should be an awesome local supplier

Ya both Sams and Rollin EZ are working on getting more inventory, just going to be alittle while before it happens but hopefully not to long. :)
