I didn't drop my nic gradually at all, I needed whole tobacco and that was a gradual transition, but after I finally did that I cut back a little until after maybe I month it dawned on me that pure nicotine doesn't satisfy and agree with me, even cigs had too much, and basically halved my mg level overnight. Now I've kind of hit a lower limit, which you may be close to. I use 1.5 mg at 14 watts on my rda mostly and 6 mg at 5 watts (I don't exceed 5.5 watts on Protank 2/EVOD 1s). This is enough to add some throat hit and nic effect. I like the vaping more at higher levels, but it doesn't agree with me. As it is, I could use vaping a little less, and that's starting to happen by itself.

    I reduced my nicotine intake to zero in a little over a year. I did it by increasing volume. Every time I cut my nicotine concentration in half my volume would go up. Still, lowering my daily nicotine intake. Something like 7ml @ 12mg/ml => 10ml @ 6 => 15ml @ 3 => 20ml @ 1.5 => 25ml @ 1 => 25ml @ .5

Then, I started just vaping nicotine only mixed with VG and all flavored eliquids at zero nicotine. I was trying to seperate my desire for flavor with my desire for nicotine. I wanted to determine how much was chemical and how much was behavioral. My nicotine intake was very small for four to six months before I fully went to zero. After more than a month fully at zero nicotine, I was vaping quite a bit less. I was considering hanging up with vaping all together and being free of the monkey, but the previous six months were quite the struggle. Not kicking the nic, but thinking clearly without nicotine. I had my data set. I was completely clear of withdrawal and any behavioral needs were being met. I function much better with nicotine. I do not use any pharmaceuticals and nicotine controls my ADD. After discussion with my wife, the choice was made to go back to using nicotine. There was a noticable improvement within a week.

I did keep that habit of only vaping nicotine unflavored and vape flavored eliquids at zero nic. I now vape ~15ml @ 4.5mg/ml and 5ml or less of zero mg flavored liquids.

I went from vaping 12mg strength for well over 6 years to vaping zero.
I made the change overnight, with no withdrawals whatsoever.

Been vaping zero since early January because of "health" insurance extortion fees.
NOW my work health insurance is going up to $100 per month instead of $50 per month.

This is called the "tobacco surcharge" by those in power.

I have no words to describe my outrage.
But when I retire, I'll be back on nicotine for sure.

What's not to like about nicotine?

you do realize that nowadays even the single battery devices go up to 75w, which about half the people on this board would consider to be not enough power.

personally, I vape at 420F degrees with 30w for preheat. But most of the people I know who vape have a DNA 133 or 250 at like 100+w and don't use TC bc it limits their power.

your tinker bell style of vaping is fine, but not the norm, you're pretty much the only one doing it.

the least most vape is at the what you start calling extreme vaping 11w

Actually, there are still a lot of us tootle puffers out there. We may not be as visible since we don't need to spend a lot of time describing our equipment and technique. I tried increasing wattage on supposedly better juice delivery devices, and was completely underwhelmed. If it wouldn't bother your sensitivities too much you might check out the tootle puffers thread.

And snark and picking at people who are listening to the answers and trying the ones that make sense to them doesn't make you look any better.

I took some advice and started out at 18 mg, it worked and kept me from tobacco. After so many months I went to 12 Mg, a few more months and I'm now at 9 Mg. Very easy and simple for me, I'm more concerned with the flavor I get from vaping. I just started making my own liquids and finally have something similar to a tobacco I like.

If you stick with it long enough, and have patience, it will happen all on it own. One day 24mg will be a bit too much, in another 6-10 months 20mg will be a bit too much. So on and so forth. In beginning though, just staying of the stinkies should be priority #1, whatever MG it takes, for however long it takes to forget about them. Usually about 1 to 2 years. If you cant stay off the stinkies for this amount of time, reducing nic is not the right direction. Reducing nic before then is just ego, and it may lead to a slip and fall.

    BOL.
