Hi! The wife needs to reduce the throat hit on her WTA juice. This is quality juice that comes from a company that smells good. :D

MVP2.0, 101Vape's big 28.5 adjustable airflow dripper, single coil, cotton dragon wick.

I've dialed both wattage and voltage to as low as they go, and she's vaped in both modes.

I've opened up the airflow on the dripper to wide open.

I've moved the airhole around the circumference of the dripper to get the "air angle" different relative to the coil.

Baby has to have her WTA to stay of the stinkies. I've noticed WTA products hit harder, too. They can make me cough too, but I'm doing OK overall.

What gives? How to lower throat hit?

Thanks!

I use WTA and I've found that it has a strong throat hit too. That is just the way it is due to the extra alkaloids, and perhaps the extraction process. I buy a 36mg strength WTA base and mix it with my desired flavor (usually at 18 mg, although sometimes at 12 or 6 or 24) at about a 50/50 ratio, depending on the nicotine percentage and throat hit of my flavored juice. That helps a little with the throat hit, but it is still there. She could try adding some plain VG to her mix and see if that lessens it a bit, but of course, that will dilute down the nicotine and WTA strength. VG is known to have no throat hit and it could help mellow out the juice. Also, some flavors are known to give a stronger throat hit than others (like some fruits and citrus, colas, cinnamon, and others... you never can know because you don't know what extracts and chemicals are being used). If she is vaping only one flavor, have her try another flavor and see if that helps.

You could try changing the build, run a cooler coil/s in it and change the wick material or method. Also try running a longer and more restricted drip tip to let the vapor cool more.

If she likes menthol you can try adding some, it initially increases the throat hit but after a little while the cooling an analgesic effects kick in and the juice will have less of a perceived hit.
