If you want to drip, get manual batteries - that means 510 manual or 510 mega xl manual or for long battery life Riva510 or Ego
And buy some starter juice (you will be buying juice elsewhere but buy enough starting juice to not run out first - get 25-30ml), a get drip tip, and optionally get some cartomizers (simple ones like Boge soft-cap and for 510 you need standard resistance, for Riva or Ego you can use standard or the hotter low resistance) And make sure your kit comes with at least 2 attys. You should not drip while driving a car or doing anything else that requires your attention.
And yes - most people seem to end up preferring dripping or cartomizers (or the new Ego tanks) to using a cart on an atomizer. Carts are a bit of a pain-in-the-a compared to the other methods of vaping. Carts need juice added pretty often, the drags are less consistent, they are the method most likely to give you a mouth full of juice. Many people find the added expense of cartomizers worth it for the convenience. If you fill a cartomizer well and keep it damp you can get 4-7 days use out of it and I usually get 2 weeks out of a Boge soft-cap
I do use a couple of small-cart ecigs at home for vaping juices I occasionally want a drag of. I have a Joye 306 atty + 306 cart (with blue foam stuffing I added) sitting assembled if I want to use that on my 510 and my old M401 is set up at home too and in those two I leave a couple of juices I enjoy occasionally. My usual favorite juices are in cartos.
