Being new to the e-cig world I have many questions.

I immediately began refilling the 4 cartomizers that came with my starter kit. I have already bought some blank, empty cartridges and 2 atomizers. The blanks do not hold as much liquid as the cartos. I have read that refilling the cartos is only good for 4-6 refills but have exceeded that by double and still seem to be getting a good vape.

What are my alternatives? I have considered ordering the prefilled cartos and refilling those. It seems the cost is not much different.

What do you say? I realize that this may be a subjective thing so I won't hold anyone responsible. (GRIN)

Welcome to the forum.

Cartridges are kind of old fashion and very messy. Not many people use those anymore but that's all there was 3 short years ago.

If you are good about refilling cartomizers and use fairly clear ejuice, they do last much longer than the 4-6 you were quoted. Eventually the coil inside burns out or they start tasting kind of muddy. Many people wash them out now and again to extend their life. Since they are relatively cheap most people just throw them out. If you like the prefilled flavors no reason not to buy those and refill them. Blanks are better if you like ejuice from the many vendors that don't make prefilleds.

There are tons of alternatives depending on what type of connector you have on your ecig. What type is it? On your attys you can drip (add 2-3 drops, vape 4-8 hits, then do it again) or get tanks to feed them.

Bobe is a really good brand of cartos, They last the longest IMO and the vapor production is impressive as well. If you do buy prefilleds and planed on refilling them yourself as well, this would be a good route too. I must say though at the end of the day I would go with bobe cartomizers due to the longevity, performance, vapor production and reliability of them. Hope this helps

oh yeah welcome to the forum, you will enjoy yourself here as I have. If you have any other questions concerns about anything try the search first as this is a very good search bar. Still no luck, try posting and I'm sure one of us can help you.

juicejunky: I am using the Choice 7's brand so that may limit many options. I have seen a few compatible brands but right off the top of my head do not remember what those are. I have seen many links about cleaning also. Much is to be learned and much of the info seen thus far will have to be revisited. Google is my friend but if you have any links relevant to this, please pass those along.

Some of us are just old-fashioned (hey kids, get off my lawn) and prefer cartos over other delivery methods. I think they are the least messy, most foolproof way to vape. I re-fill mine many many times (probably 20 or more) and then retire them to the cleaning pile when they quit drawing. Once a month or so, I clean a big batch. I rarely throw any away, but sometimes you just have to thank them for their service and let them go.

What is your cleaning method? I have looked briefly at a few methods but have not followed up.

I figure the cost is still low over-all by buying a pack of 5 or 10 cartos and recycling through those. Currently I only have 4 but also have 2 atomizers and blank cartridges. Just beginning to get the hang of filling the blanks to obtain a good vape.

If you believe vaping is working for you, it might just be the right time to get a better setup. There are juice delivery devices that are just drop in the juice and vape, such as the clearomizers, T3's, and vivi nova tanks. The setup that you are using is rather "old news", as someone kindly pointed out to you.

I made a picture dictionary of more modern and common place delivery devices in this link:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/cartomizers/343294-proper-terminology-carto-tank-what-lol.html#post7562212

For a more up-to-date gear setup take a look at the items in this link of an ideal mid-level setup:

Gee man, I have only been doing this 2 weeks. I cannot justify another several hundred dollars now. Have the starter kit which came with 1 battery, 4 cartos and a mini USB charger adapter. I have bought a second battery. I am using a USB wall charger from one of my cell phones. I have a USB pass through battery, e-liquid (2 30ml bottles) and a "Square Charger Case" plus 20 blank cartos. I will use these for some time before doing any upgrades. My next battery will likely be a hybrid type. They seem to be more compatible with other brands.

With what you have the first upgrade to think about is a carto tank and punch. The tank will slide over any standard diameter carto. The punch will prep the carto for tank use. They arent expensive if you shop around and the vape experience will increase dramaticly. I double punch mine and it is like a whole new setup. Filling a tank is much easier than 20 cartos and you never have to worry about a dry hit that will burn the filler. Check out the AGR at Steammonkey.

I was talking cartridges (what the OP got with his/her attys. Did I take him/her too literally?) not cartomizers. Cartomizers are extremely popular and only a little messy once in a while.

What's the most sure-fire way to not have anything leak? have a Vivi Nova, but sometimes the bottom screw part leaks out a tiny amount of juice (so small I can feel it, but not really see it). Do Carto tanks have this issue where if you don't screw them perfectly you get a little leakage?

No, not from the tank itself. The tank parts, tube and endcaps, fit tightly together by means of silicone o-rings. I have over a dozen cartotanks and not one has ever came apart. Some beginners have problems with the cartomizer "flooding", which is generally a user error issue and a whole other topic not to get into here. There are several threads of this in the tank subforum.

I had bad issues when i first started vaping with cartos so i went the ViVi Nova route. i just got my first MOD....yeah the Vamo.
I love this thing!
But the ole tilt and twirl you have to do with the ViVi's is cumbersom with the Vamo so i decided to try out cartos again.

This time i went with boge cartos when previously i only use smoktech DC with DCT's.
so i went and got all the stuff i needed...2 packs boge LR cartos a J-Tank a carto punch and a fill-a-majig.

WOW am i impressed with this setup. Yeah its a bit more fiddly than the ViVi's but man i love the vape...great flavor clouds of vapor!

i just tonight changed out my carto and i think i just did the perfect carto fill and punch, it's almost like a totally diffrent vape. the more you do it the better you get at it.

i still like my 2 ViVi's and will continue to vape them but the carto tank is my go to vape. Now i need 2 more Mods for my ViVi's. Looking at the Tesla and hopefully in the futer a ProVari.

as far as leaking, this J-Tank hasn't spilt a drop. it really does set up tight after just a few minutes after filling it.

IXquick is my friend and according to this site your Choice 7 should have a 510 connection, so you are in luck. You can probably buy a 510 drip tip for your new attys and drip on them. You can buy blank 510 cartomizers (Boges, or whatever) at almost any of the forum suppliers and they should fit your Choice 7. YOu can buy 510 or 306 attys as well because they will have the same thread. Just don't buy anything marked LR (low resistance) because your batteries are not powerful enough for them. If at some point you buy a bigger battery like an ego all your attys and cartomizers should fit. Not too many vendors though sell prefilled 510 cartomizers-just blanks.

I am going by the info on this link ElectronicEcig|Electronic Cigarette Wholesale|E cig guide|Premium Cigs|E smoke shop| » E-Cig Compatibility Guide , so perhaps someone here will know for sure if this is 100% correct. Choice 7 is a 510 connection. Any one know for sure?

I (He) was talking about refilling a cartomizer. I did get 2 atomizers and a pack of empty cartridges in addition to the basic starter kit.

Do the clearomizers come with the atomizer included? What I have looked up does not show the male threaded end in the standard image displayed. One does show a disassembled unit and it has the correct appearing threaded end. I am assuming that the outside diameter is larger than the cartomizer and the threaded end is recessed in the end but is still the same. Meaning that the end over-laps the battery.

I soak in everclear overnight...boil 2-3 times for 5 minutes or so...rinse in a strainer...pop in the oven on a cookie sheet at about 175 degrees for 1/2 hour or so and then let air dry for a couple of days.
