The videos I'm seeing look like it's more trouble than it's worth to refill the cartridges. My cartridges are filled with a poly fill(I liken it to the filling you find at the store for pillows or whatever), do you really have to refill them through the mouthpiece hole? Couldn't you just go through the bottom of the cartridge where the hole is bigger? Please help! I'm about to order some e-juice and don't want to use prefilled carts. I'm using too many!

I hope you are seeing people filling cartomizers and just think that you are seeing them with a cartridge, because you are right. The cartridge is filled from the big end that goes against the atomizer.

You can top off the cartridge by pulling it off and dripping onto the fill until it looks slushy.

If the cartridge is dry then you will want to pull the filler out with tweezers and drip into the cavity until it is about 2/3 full. Then replace the fill and top off until it looks slushy.

You can see a cartridge being topped off at the 6:40 mark of this video.

And, yes, the fill is very much the same as pillow fill. You can pull this fill out and clean it, carefully, by squeezing water through it and then letting it dry completely.

Many times the manufacturer puts waaay too much poly fill in the cart. As long as there is enough to completely cover the hole and not allow the juice to leak out, all is good. Also, look into different fillers. Pet stores carry aquarium filler, (aquafill, fluval, etc) that works great for carts and allows for more room to put the juice.
