No, you didn't, the 1.5Ω version is (still) available both ways. The SR version is only available in black.

Most black atties/cartos I've had over the years were unpolished stainless steel with the barrels wrapped in a mystery material that's like a cross between paper and vinyl. The most amazing thing about that is the glue. It's some sort of insoluble glue-from-another-planet. After peeling off the black covering, the semi-sticky residue left behind on the atty/carto barrel doesn't dissolve or come off with any of the various kinds of solvents I've tried. Using a sharp knife, the residual glue can be scraped off, but it's a painstaking, slow process.
Next time the opportunity presents itself, try using a piece of gaffers tape. I've used gaffers tape to remove all sorts of adhesives from all sorts of things (but never an atty). Just cover the remaining adhesive and then remove the tape. Any adhesive that remains can usually be removed by "blotting" it repeatedly with the tape.
Gaffers tape is also great for removing the thin plastic protection put on name plates and other products rather than picking at the corner trying to lift it without scratching it. (Note that sometime gaffers tape is too strong for this, and can remove the actual name plate if there really isn't protective plastic on it after all...)

I bought 21 black. I always check by putting a stupid number in the cart and letting the site tell me how many are left. I got LR too. I am done for now, that is unless they start to liquidate those 306s. If they do, I will tell you all right after I place my order.

I remember struggling with that gunk many a time on cartos when I ordered the wrong ones or SS were out of stock. I think most of the attys I've had were powder coated rather than sticker-wrapped. Still got a couple LRs that are a couple years old that are the powder coat variety . . . I hate dealing with the stickers when they start peeling so I try to avoid them.
Just to make sure before I order a bunch (still kind of new to all this) I can use the Joye 510 LR as a dripping atty on my I stick 30?

Thanks for the response, I have really been looking into starting dripping but don't know much about it, and we are working insane hours at work right now 7 days a week, so I haven't had time to research like normal.
Gotta get some. I moved away from joy 306 and 510's when I started using the dripper pros by Leo but DAMN! That's cheap.
