Do any of you guys find the draw on the joyetech atomizers really tight.
It's almost as if i can't get any draw..
they still hit great, but it feels weird
Some are tighter than others

And if you screw them down tight then the draw is tighter.
It also seems to be that the draw is tighter with higher VG levels.

But yeah, I wouldn't mind if the draw was a little less tight in general.

It's a crap shoot--some are tight, some are loose, and some are perfect. For me, if it's too tight, I stick a metal pointy object of some sort into the air holes and widen them up a tad--it works enough to satisfy me. If it's too loose, I'll use those for the all VG juices. The really loose ones I tend not to use for high PG juices simply because you can end up drinking the juice as if sucking through a straw. It really is never that much thought that goes into it though.

The perfect draw on those boogers is a most often evident if you hear that slight, wonderfully beautiful sound of the crackle. I actually will take the new ones out and give a quick dry drag to see which one sounds the "best." That's how I determine which of the many I will roll with for the month.

Any suggestions for a cheap metal pointy object?

It depends, but I got a couple screws that work perfectly. I just start it and give a couple turns. I also have a set of tweezers (pointy tip, not flat) and I put them in and pry a bit (just did it on one that was tight). I really hate doing that, but sometimes the draw is too stiff.

Of course, whatever you use, just make sure that bad boy is secure. Ouch! LOL.

I find some of my Joye 510 attys tend to hit their stride at about a week in. And some juices demand they be dripped. If I put them in one of my Evods the taste changes, I lose something in the experience.

I have been reading that the juice consumption raises significantly when you go to an RBA. I was thinking of getting my feet wet with an Igo L but that and the coil making is scaring me off. Is it true that the rebuildables use a lot more juice? Also, what is the difference between RBA and RDA? Is it that one is only used in a tank?

I ask because I only use Joye 510 attys and I love them. I am trying to determine if it would be worth it to venture into the RBA/RDA world. I am using 1300mah vision spinners and an MVP2.

By the way, love, love, love this thread.

RDrippingA/RBA are basically the same thing. RTA is a rebuildable tank atomizer, but can be considered an RBA (I think).

One thing that's iffy for me about them--aside, generally speaking, from the hit--is that because it vaporizes much more liquid, damned near everyone that vapes with them has to drastically reduce the nicotine level of their liquids. If I had to make the switch of my liquids, that would be costly, time consuming and costly (LOL). So on one hand, you got to start buying all new liquids, and you're going to go through them faster. That's another situation where DIYers could be unaffected.

An RDA is an RBA, people use RDA sometimes when they specifically mean dripping rebuildables.

I don't have any experience with rebuildable tanks, just rebuildable drippers. Usually, yes, juice consumption goes up. It really depends though, the cloud chasers with their sub-ohm builds, huge air holes, and low nic juices can easily vape up to 15ml a day. Another prominent member in the rebuildable section vapes 32mg nic and about 3ml a day. He does the sub-ohm thing too, but isn't a chain vaper. I'm kind of a chain vaper, but stick to around 1 ohm for my builds, and go through maybe 4ml a day instead or 2-3ml that I did with a standard atty.

Wow. I do not think I could afford to make that change. All my liquids are either 24mg or 18mg, except for a small selection. So there really are people out there who are vaping around 15ml a day. I have been reading that, I even saw someone claim 20ml a day. I thought it had to be impossible. I could not drip that fast. I heard iclears suck up the juice so I have two that I have not used. That is insane. Unless making the switch to RBAs would be a 30% or better improvement to where I am today I do not see my happiness with my 510 attys suffering. Maybe at some point in the future. But for now............

I think I will choose to be happy being happy.

There's two reasons I see for trying different toppers. One is not being happy with what someone is using, and wanting something better. Most of us have been there, unless the first thing we try happens to be the perfect device for us. It's a frustrating place to be at, since you're not happy with what you have and really hope the next thing will give you what you want.

A second situation is that someone is really happy with what they have. They may have difference reasons to try other things: curiosity, they like to tinker, they want more options, or just think it would be fun to experiment. This group is in a much better place, it doesn't matter how great something is since they are already getting a great vape. Trying the new thing should satisfy their reason to try it, be it curiosity or expanded knowledge, and how well it works shouldn't matter so much.

But what I see a lot is the second group getting very frustrated with trying new things. They already have what for them is the perfect set-up, and they get mad that trying something new isn't more perfecter? I don't like using this phrase, but IMO someone already found their perfect vape who's trying other devices and getting frustrated are doing it WRONG. If you expect the new thing to be much better than what you already love, that's some unrealistic expectations.

What I'm saying in my long-winded way, is you're happy with what you have, and that's a good place to be. If you want to try something else do so only if the prospect sounds fun and you think you'd enjoy just the act of trying something new, whether it ends up something you end up using long-term or not. For people who love what they have, there's a good chance something different isn't going to be prefered, and that's ok.

Jerms, in that post you pretty much summed up about where I am right now. I read about all these people chasing clouds, or vapor, or the next shiny thing and I think, how sad for them. I hate to want and not get. Selfish? Yes. So, since I am pretty happy with where I am, why build coils and spend lots of money on something that may or may not make me a little happier, or possibly frustrated. We know I will be broker (is that a word?).

I think anyone who considers vaping a hobby is doing it right as long as they enjoy it. Whether someone is chasing clouds, toys, or flavor; if it's something they enjoy doing then good for them. I'm a flavor chaser, I love trying new flavors and getting new experiences from different juices, but I've had to remind myself to enjoy what I have at the time so it doesn't feel like work.

Hobbies are done for enjoyment, work is done for money. If a hobby starts becoming work for me, it's time to refocus, because nobody is compensating me with money for doing my hobby. Alternatively, my employers never promised to compensate me with enjoyment, though I'll still complain when work sucks lol.

I have found as I get older that it takes less to make me happy. In 4 months I have 2 1/2 flavors that I love. NLV Gold, Ahl. Caramel Pear Black Tea, and the half is for Smooth Criminal. I have not known it long enough to know if it is love or infatuation. I started vaping to quit smoking and it is doing that job well. The fact that I enjoy it as much as I do is a bonus. I do not want to turn it into a chore.

I wish for you to have some moments of enjoyment at your work, even if you have to sneak them or fetch them out of thin air.

Jerms, I don't know what the hell is going on with you, but everyday you make more and more insightful, wise and compassionately thoughtful posts. Dude, what the hell are you vaping?!?!?! Do they make sage eliquid? My man!
