I'm a 510 atty lover too! I just installed my first coils on my new RDA's (Magma, Brass Monkey, Origen) and am not liking them so much:( The 3 are huge though with big barrels, so could you tell me which you used that were smaller?

Maybe the coils are the problem. I ordered bags of fifty pre-made coils in the 2.2 and 2.4 range made with 34/35 awg wire. I have no idea what I'm doing truthfully. My week old Joye 510 atty blows all 3 of those RDa's away in flavor and vapor.

one of them is an Igo-S

I don't remember what the others are called (a few of the same kind)

I make my own coils...takes a little practice - but worth it !

The last batch of Joye attys I got tho really weren't so hot...wasn't pleased about that :(

There are a ton of little bottom feeders - the one from NoName looks like the best of the fairly recent releases to me. Smallest is Quintus by Scientist - about the same size (maybe a bit smaller) as a Joye 510.

I'm on my last empire 901 right now, so soon I'll have to decide if I want to continue with them. Dripping isn't a huge part of vaping for me these days... but I'll probably snag a few in a couple weeks.:)

I'm a die hard 510 atty user. Terrific flavor and vapor!!! That's what I started with and I love em. Don't know what I'll do if they discontinue them. :( I've got a pretty good stash for now. :vapor:

I honestly don't see a time when that will happen, but JIC, buy more than you need when you can.

Anybody ever try the Igo-S yet?

It was one of the first rebuildables I bought and it's still one of my favorites. Beauty in simplicity and as a bonus it's an original design from China, not a clone. It's very small for a rebuildable, which means it offers flavors at a 10 (it's older brother, the IGO-L, is more of a 6 in flavor in my experience). The IGO-S would be my top suggestion for those who want an experience closest to disposable atties. It's not very popular because it doesn't hold near the level of juice as the bigger ones. But for people like us who have been dripping for years in 510s and 901s, the 12 drops to fill and 8 when redripping is more than enough capacity. I'm weird, I enjoy the smaller capacity, because it lets me drip more :)

I use it on mechs, but for eGo users it sits flush and looks great on the fat batts.

Alright, hopefully I'm in the right spot, forgive me if I'm not.
I was looking into a way of testing new juices without blowing a tankful, especially if I get into making my own flavors.

But it seems I'm confused according to my local B&M, I don't want to blow clouds like this one young guy today was, I just want to drip to test flavors.
I thought a Joye 510 would work but I'm wrong?

I have the following battery.. Genuine Kanger™ eVod VV that came as a starter kit with the upgraded protank mini 3. They told me I have to buy a rebuildable & new kit since the stick wont be strong enough?
Or are they just trying to make the sale because I am a newb to this & have no, zero, nada interest in rebuilding coils. I already have enough junk to do with rebuilding ham radios & antennas.

Any ideas? Suggestions? I just want to test juices without having to buy several dozen tanks, I don't want to have to rebuild coils that's why I like the PT mini 3 & I have a 2 coming also, I can spend the change to get coils for them.

Thanks

PS Oh, yeah, I don't want to break my bank either, or if I can get premade coils like I do with the PTs that would be fine also. If I need to get a different battery then so be it, but what it comes down too, its a item that wont see a heck of a lot of use so I don't want to kill my bank acct.

Those people at the B&M are completely clueless. Get as far away from them as you can.

A Joye 510 is exactly what you need. That or any standard or low-resistance 510 atomizer. Any resistance from 1.5 to 3.0 ohms will work perfectly well on your Evod VV. An old-school 510 atty is an ideal way to test new juices. Drip-drip-drip five or six drops down the drip tip opening into the barrel of the atomizer and onto the coil, vape-vape-vape to test the juice and see what you think, blow-blow-blow out the remaining juice in the atty (a couple drops of eliquid into a kleenex), and onto testing the next juice.

This thread is right where you should be. Check back in the posts for referrals or links to the different brands of 510 atties you might wish to buy.

Like has been said, that kit will be perfect with a 510 atty. Joye, Cisco (from avidvapor), Ikenvape, and EmpireMods are all popular and recommended disposable atties. You can also use 306 atties, but will need a special drip tip made for them, and 901 atties which will need an simple adaptor to fit on your battery. A 510 atomizer would probably be the best place to start, 306 and 901 atties have some subtle differences you may want to explore later.

You may be looking to use these for testing flavors (which they are perfect for), but don't be surprised if you end up doing most of your vaping on them! Dripping in a regular or rebuildable atty just feels right, like using a lighter on a cig, and the performance and flavor is top.

Hmm...I spoke today with Betty at Joyetech (through Alibaba) and it's not looking promising. She said they are, and I quote, "almost discontinued" and if I wanted some it would be better to go through JoyetechUSA which sells them at around $9 a piece. I am still checking Alibaba and other sources as I know for a fact that they are out there in an abundance and someone is looking to move them....

I honestly don't see a time when that will happen, but JIC, buy more than you need when you can.

Did you find out any "good" news since you spoke with that Joyetech rep?

Agreed. I think it's by far the most flavorful RBA, the closest in performance to a standard atty. I generally object to atties that draw air from the side, rather than from under the coil, but this one works well -- not too tight, not too airy.

Go to B&Ms for convenience, but not for information.

That is a sad statement. There should be no reason the proprietors of a B&M shouldn't know the entire range of vaping gear and be able to suggest different things than what they personally use. I can recommend cloud-blowing atties, even though I don't really use them. Vape shops should have enough general knowledge to give advice on all kinds of topics to customers. Helping new customers navigate the confusion should be the exact reason people visit a B&M.

Sad statement, yes, but all too often true -- maybe that makes it all the more sad?! I actually have been to at least three B&Ms that hadn't even heard of ECf. And at two of them were the owners not knowing. I told them that was like a garage rock band in the 80s not having heard of MTV (but that's barely accurate as ECF covers it all).

Thanks everyone for the replies, I have several I'm going to look into now.

I don't fault the B&M, its a new store, the 2 employees today are apparently new as I've not run into them. It appears the manager & other lady I bought my kit from had the day off, & these 2 seemed more interested in the couple buying a couple 10ml bottles.
And yes, I told them I was new to the vaping, so the young man probably thought he was impressing me by blowing clouds. Don't get me wrong, if that's what does it for you so be it, I have a specific thought in my mind what I want it for. And that's not cloud blowing. :p Besides at 47 I no longer feel the need to impress others, or to be impressed. LOL
I'm looking online right now, I'll go back or to 1 of their sister stores later this week, plus I have 2 more non related stores in about 20-30 miles travel that I can look at. I like supporting any B&M stores I can, specially small/Mom&Pop type of stores, but I'm not above shopping from chains/online either. ;-)

So, again thank you all for the welcome & suggestions & ideas, I'll probably be back once I figure it out. Ya'll are the best!

I was in a new one in Westland a few weeks ago and the owners hadn't heard of Ahlusion or Heather's. Which is like a sixties garage band not knowing the Rolling Stones and, uh, Herman's Hermits.
