With the HH I have, a quick and hard draw is a must; a slow and easy draw doesn't work.

Right there is good info... I think I gravitated to the evods I have since I think I like the slow, easy draw.. a kind of puff, inhale, then exhale through the nose while I puff a little more. That method seem to work best with them. My first vapes were on CE4s and Vivis, and I those draws were hard to the point of being rather uncomfortable.

I am a lazy man at heart, and I vape lazy. :) If I could just sit there and have it blow out vapor, I'd probably love it (cue the vaping at 400w video!).

If that's the case, I would say you are PERFECT for genny types or some RDAs, but don't ask me about the best way to go about it. I retired those (at least the gennys) ventures.

Just wanted to extend my thanks and appreciation to Mr. Mann and the dripping Vet's that have contributed to this thread with their advice/opinions/recommendations about dripping.

When I first found this thread I didn't have a clue what dripping was or what was involved. Now? I'm still a noob (lol!), but I pretty much drip all the time. Oh I'll sneak in a session with a BCC every now and then but I always go back to dripping.

Lately I've been trying a Avid LR 306 (tried the EM 306, but the draw was to airy for me). Planning to try out a LR 901 and a bottom feeder soon too.

Lastly, when I first started vaping I'd pretty much follow one of the vaping charts that's floating around. You know, if you've got x.x ohms then you can vape at x.x voltage and be green. Anyway, saw a couple of posts by Mr. Mann and the settings he uses and noticed he push's the 10 watt range. Hmmmm.....ok, lemme try! click-click-click-fire-inhale.....NOICE! :vapor:

So yes, you can teach an old dog new tricks.

Anyway - thanks again everyone. :toast:

Thanks, it's good to know you're enjoying it. Maybe some day you'll move on, maybe not. I'll likely always drip (talking vaping ;)).

That is exactly why I hate that chart.

I don't know who put that chart together, but the chart is just flat out wrong.
There are a LOT of people who vape in the red portions of that chart.

It is a popular chart, but it's just really a starting point. But I have found it pretty accurate, at least on my clearos.... On my evods, my T3 and the Vivi I had before, if I pushed it past 8.5, it started to go downhill REALLY fast. On my little RDA that I just got, I've dabbled up around 10w so far and it hasn't burned yet... haven't built up the courage to find the upper limit yet though.

I think it is a valuable guide for beginners and the devices that are typically used by beginners. Someone who just got their first spinner in the mail looks down at the dial, looks at the resistance on their clearo and thinks "Where do I start?" If they plop down right in the middle of the green zone... around 7w typically I think... they really aren't going to have issues.

I think that new one was created by someone who never used an atomizer.

Clearos like evods, CEs and Vivis and carts (pre-filled or not) is how most people are introduced into vaping right now. Once they get past the cigalikes, chances are, it is one of those sitting on top of an ego of some sort. Oh, sure, they might eventually move on to add in some dripping attys, maybe start in on the rebuildables, but by then, they don't need to consult a chart... they've already got a feel for where they should be based on their devices.

It helps reduce the '... do I do?" factor... a starting point, that's all.

...With the HH I have, a quick and hard draw is a must; a slow and easy draw doesn't work. And well.. I just don't vape like that. Changing how I vape isn't an option; I tried to adjust but just didn't enjoy it. Same reason I'm not drilling huge holes in my rebuildables, I like taking long, slow drags with some resistance, and having to change that isn't something I'm interested in.

I have six HH.357s and I can easily use either short, fast pulls or long, slow ones. I'm beyond being thoroughly confused as to why your HH.357 works so differently?   All mine were purchased since Avid introduced the AMP Tank and are just the standard build for mixed PG/VG juices. Is it possible that you have an earlier version that has different draw characteristics or one built for a different PG/VG ratio?

Ah, Mann---just wait until you're 63 and have a somewhat enlarged, though hopefully still benign, prostate. Dripping will acquire a whole new meaning.

When I saw I was in "the red," it made no sense as that's where the attys shined. ALthough, that is NOT the case with all attys. I have had some 2.5Ω attys that couldn't be pushed past 4.4v. It really all depends on taste, not a chart. It's fun to see where you are once you're there, but the chart won't get to to where you want to be. Taste is the truest chart. ;)

To continue with my theme-for-the-day of getting older, I seem to be less power-hungry than when I was younger. Not that I was ever a "young" vaper---I was a young smoker; now I'm an old vaper. But last year my VAMOs and Kicks were all set to 9-10 watts. Now I find myself completely happy vaping at 7.5 watts. Go figure. But then, I drive slower, too...

Ohhhh don't know about moving on. Smoked the same cigs for 30+ yrs till I quit.....pretty much a creature of habit. :)

I have tried a carto tank (it was ok) and dabbling with a RDA (bad eyes - hard to see coils lol!), but I'm always back to dripping.

Believe me, buy the time you get to my age, it even gets better  My diet consists of Flomax & Kaopectate.

How's every thing in Florence these days? I grew up in Noti, so about half way between Eugene & Florence. (dirt road & a party line back then)
