Yeah, it's delicious. But a lot of what I (and you) like just needs that extra blast from a 510. I have a theory that because the air doesn't come directly up through the connector like a 510 does -- but has to take a right turn coming in from the side -- that that somehow changes the delivery. This also says something about why rba's with a side air hole don't feel right to me. Even the ones that approximate the size of a regular atty, like the Igo-S, don't give me the draw I'm looking for.

Nanu nanu. However, I bet I do my damnedest! Worst case scenario, I got happy vaping waiting on me right cheeah!

Those are unloaded voltages. Actual voltages under load for Twists and the green NIMHs are considerably lower. I know, because I use both and just checked. On a twist set to 4.8 volts with a 2.3 ohm Joyetech 510 atty, my voltage under load is 4.06V. With the same atty on a mech mod with a freshly-charged 5V NIMH battery (reading 5.4 volts), voltage under load is only 3.91V. Interestingly, the Twist has less voltage (.7 volts) drop than the NIMH (1.5 volts). YMMV, of course.
Damn, I believe you.

So the Twists are giving me more oomph than my NiMHs were?
I did feel like I was getting more oomph from the NiMHs, but under load I wouldn't know.

I guess it goes to show that impressions can be misleading.

anyone know if digital ciggz is supposed to have anymore of those Joye atty's back in stock ? I've been checking everyday and shows out of stock ... I joined the game too late to have jumped on this deal lol .. now I'm waiting to see if they come back on sale before I try and seek out another type of dripping atty ..

Mr. Mann .. just FYI .. I went to visit Wlad back in November of last year and it was 1 week into vaping and I ended up spending 2 hours there sampling on their 306 (I think) atty's that they have .. I've been dripping more and more to the point where I ONLY drip when I'm at home .. at work I usually take a tank .. but I'm RUINED, absolutely RUINED !! I can drip sahara or smooth criminal at home and be in heaven ... then I take one of them with me to work in a tank and the flavour is SO MUTED !! .. so I've decided I may just drip at work too, maybe take breaks like I used to when I smoked and just drip for 10-15 minutes to get a fix .. but now after reading COUNTLESS pages on this thread, I'm not yet decided on which one to get (stingray, smartvapes, etc) if I don't get a chance to buy the Joye ones in bulk ...

thank you for this thread though ! I discovered it late, but better late than never .. lol ...

Just thought I'd mention this but... there was a YouTube video... PBusardo... where he reviewed the Ego-C Twist and... and he did some testing and there is a graph he has and... for 1.5 ohms resistance... the Ego-C Twist... would not go above 3.7 volts... regardless of what setting you had it on... including the 4.8.

The funny thing... is PBusardo... was using 1.5 ohms and said he liked it set at 4.3... lol... by his own graph he was not getting anything more that what he would get if he had it set at 3.7 but... great guy and great review so... to each their own.

I think the "placebo effect" enters into all this. If you set the dial of a VV to 4.8 volts, and you think you're vaping at 4.8 volts, there's a good chance that the vape will feel to you like 4.8 volts, even though voltage drop under load means that you're getting less voltage than that---often significantly less (depending on the individual battery and the resistance of the atomizer).

That's why the "what-you-set-is-what-you-get" feature of the ProVari and certain other power converter/voltage regulation boards (notably, the OKR/t6-w12 board in my Penguin tin twin-18650 box mod) is so impressive. Set a ProVari or the Penguin box to 4.2 or 5 volts, and the device makes sure that the voltage actually delivered is 4.2 or 5, and that's very sophisticated technology.

Don't get me wrong, I use both Twists and NIMH batts, and I like them. It's just that they cannot deliver full voltage with lower-resistance atomizers. They simply don't have that kind of power.

Ha! Wlad passes out 306s like they're tic tacs.

You may want to get to trying out those other attys because I think the days of the $2-an-atty (Joyetech) are over. But, there are many really good options out there, and I look forward to getting your take on those various attys.

Sorry if this has been covered in the past 1450+ posts, but has anyone had any experience with these fellas:
GS-Bridgeless 3 Hole Atomizer for E Cigarette x 5 (Random Color) - Atomizer - eGo Accessories

Just wondering if they're suitable for a taste-testing kit. Being bridge-less, presumable I could just pack them with some paper towel and then burn off the coil (sans paper towel, of course) to clean them between flavours?

tia,
bm

I'm not knocking the 3-hole attys, but the ones I tried were the poorest functioning ecig devices I'd ever used. My experience wasn't the same as others, so maybe I was just unlucky. Also know that the ones I tried (from discountvapers) were less than half the cost of those.

I thought under $8 for 5 atties (under $2 each) was a half-decent price, but I'm just starting looking around. How many holes would a normal one have?

Jeez-us! It happened again. I didn't fully see the offer. I thought that was the price of one.

Sorry for my lack of attention (my focus is elsewhere).

That is a great price, but I still didn't like the attys. But maybe you'll have better luck. It's not a huge risk to see though.

I have a couple of things I need your expertise on before I make a purchase ..

I run innokin vv3.0 and mvp 2 ... will all drip shields work ? (I'm thinking about one from empiremods) ..

also, do I need a 510-510 adapter for the shield to fit ? My plans are to buy the long barrel atomizers I think ..
I'm still confused as to which to buy .. the smartvapes ones, kidneypuncher ones, avidvaper ones, or stingray ...

I'm still also trying to figure what the hell is the difference between 901, 801, and 510 if it's not the actual connection ...

I been searching and reading like crazy, didn't have time to go through all 150 pages here, but any help from you guys would be greatly appreciated, I only wanted to post in here cuz I know it's a specific dedicated thread ...

My 901 died :( probably won't be buying another one as that's the shortest amount of time I've ever had an atty last.

Now I'm using a hacked hybrid 306 510. I had to cut my carto with a saw instead of a pipe cutter, so it's not nearly as neat looking but it works very well and I can use my long stem drip tip with my 306 and drip shield!

I still don't get how drip shields are supposed to work on a 510. 510, 801 and 901 do indeed refer to connection type. The top of the line atomizers I've heard most about are the HH.357, anything from Ikenvape and the hybrid slant coil/Shifu atomizers at Vapage.
