it's a good idea but since i send pms pretty much only to members i've gotten to know i sort of word my invitation to the individual.

That's fine, Tibs. I was mostly concerned if I had all the correct info in the PM--links, how much detail, do we mention contests, etc.

Other than that, personalization is perfectly natural.

KK going to do a quick PM thing to show you how I usually do the things. Let me know if that is ok... I am sort of following Tom's sample PM.

Hi Sweety!

Where is Tom's sample PM? I'd like to read it...

"Sweety" stands for the prevet's forum name, correct? Or are you actually calling them "sweety"?

Tom doesn't have one to my knowledge Kat. I was half asleep, meant yours and have fixed it. LOL

I actually do call all of my friends sweety, sugar, baby, hon, etc. rofl. I do not know what the prevets nickname is.

edit: for people that I do not know as well, naturally I would just call them by their ECF name.

Oh, Morri, I forgot you are a Southern Lady! :) That explains everything! :)

Other than that, always check with Tibs and Whiskey about PMs (and check the list). AutumnWolf and Paislea are already on the list--they don't need to be contacted now. The vets who open their respective welcome threads will send a reminder to them just prior to their turning.

Drats, I spent the last 7 minutes looking for Tom's sample invitation...

Oh, it is! The women in the South have always used those pet names. There is another, better reason for it. LOL shhhh don't tell anyone.

I asked my grandmother once, when I was in my twenty's...WHY do we always call people sweety and honey. My grandmother told me this... there are 10 children in my family. I had 10 children also. By the time all those children have children and then they have children.....you sort of start to forget their names. LMAO

women historically live long lives in my family. My greatgrandmother was 100, my grandmother was 99. When she passed over, she had great, great, great, great grandchildren, I think. Like four generations of the little guys. hahahah

loves ya
morri

going nite nite again now.

edit: I have always given pet names to friends though. And it is usually Sweety, Darlin, DArling, sugar, honey, angel, baby, etc etc. Sometimes, I even get creative. hahahah

Of course I do!

But I thought it really was a Southern thing--your warmth and hospitality and charm.
