I'm sure we can keep it going for the rest of the year. Probably not much longer than that, though.

And then there's the contest.

We could always try to go back to the old format--to the good old pre-contest routine: no soliciting, no invitations sent unless we really know someone. Let them come to us. If they come, they'll be served. That should reduce the workload substantially. Tom's spreadsheed will no longer be needed--albeit it is very helpful. Updating the list will be easier.

I'm not saying this should be done--only that it's an option to consider.

PreVets existed before the contest and it was doing just fine, thank you. It's this urge to expand the operations that got us in trouble in the first place. Heck, we never even had a list. We just posted the dates in the thread: "Fudgey turns tomorrow Woot!" And we were never sure of the time; we were forever looking for old registration emails...

Just my :2c:

Carry on.

and i curse the day the contest was mentioned ......

starry, we have one fellow on the list who will turn vet whenever he reaches the required post number - could you handle that?

Yeah of course, no prob Tibs, do you think I can start that one now? Just because I cant access the forum during the day?

Just a thought, when I first started hanging in the Thread, BR would pop on with his "Jabber Jabber" and tell us to stop chatting up the thread so much :)
Maybe a bit of a slow-down and a return to the 'old times' wouldn't be bad thing.
The Thread has taken on a life of it's own, and has evolved and gone through a number of changes. We've been hit with a few blows this year; but we're still going.
Hang in there gang, like has been stated before, the Thread was started for our fellow members to have someone celebrate a milestone in their lives. Let's take a moment or three to catch our breaths and regroup; but let's cool off before making any major decisions.

Hugs 'n hi-5s :D

So, I've been thinking about it too...my vote it that we keep it going. As Atty said, it's about the new vets, and it's a legacy. It means too much to too many people.

It's OK if it slows down a bit- we get through this year. And let next year take care of itself.

Thank all y'all for pitching in for right now. Starry and all, if y'all agree, let me know which welcome threads you can take and I'll update the list in the morning.

I  you guys
