atty - we've lost nat as our double-checker due to the rw. i usually check before i add to the list if i am editor atm UNLESS ecf is acting up and pages take forever to load.
a friendly reminder - whoever posts a request in the ''to be added'' thread, doublecheck the prevet's name spelling and/or joining day - turning day
as to splinter - heard back from j0ker and requested splinter to be added NOW. he thought we should take our time time on requesting who's to be added or dropped due to inactivity. i told him we need help asap and to add splinter. we, in turn, would hold off with other changes unless we are sure it's a package deal because he will not approach sarge with add or drop requests more than really necessary

tweety is right - if they can't decide on a theme we can go with just a general celebration.
and i wouldn't worry too much - 2 requests for a surprise in all this time is not bad, even if they came back to back ..... well, almost

Do we allow for randomly selected/Surprise themes or not? Need yeas or nays and a decision by tomorrow 10:00 a.m. if possible.

If yea, we continue to finish the short list of themes and/or just use "Celebration" which I will get bored with fast (just say'n ) Not that it's a bad idea, but not enough variety for me. I'll get bored, I tell ya! Bored! Beats unicorns and rainbows for me, but only but a hair.

Q: Do we allow "Surprise Me" themes for people that just can't decide or pop in and request an avatar party then we don't hear from them? Note that two people have already requested "surprise me".

FYI - Using "Celebration" is allowing it.....

IMHO, if someone decides to cancel their participation, for whatever reason, that's fine. If through communication, they decide to 'come back', that's fine also. If they come back on their own before their turning date - fine also. But, if there is any confusion as to their status, I do think they should be removed from the list until it is positively cleared up. Just my

On the "Theme" front; how about adding this to the bottom of the List posted on the Thread:

I added it to the bottom of the List on the pvt.freehostingcloud.com website at Whiskers' request. If it's posted with the List on the Thread, pre-vets may have more of an understanding right-off-the-bat.

I don't like diversion tibby, I like variety.

However, it wasn't me that allowed "Surprise Me" on the list.. I was just reacting to it being there.

I've actually been in the "they pick" camp. But after WE allowed it on the list, and were going to pick something anyway, I thought about it and decided that if we are going to do that, we should have a handful of themes that we select and that we like. No matter, it's off the table now anyway. No surprises. They pic or they get a generic welcome thread. No biggie since the "surprise me" pre-vets dropped out.

I was open to it, trying to be "Mr. Optimism" and all. But now I'm just sick of the whole discussion.

What could have been a chance for US to pick some things that they might like, and we like also, and have an easy list of stuff to work off, turned into "make them do it, we're busy". Sad really. I suppose in one sense, it's our loss. But the point is a good one. They can at least do us the courtesy of thinking about it.

The thing is that having to select a theme may be a "turn off" for many. On the other hand, we're busy enough as it is. If they can't get that far, maybe they are not interested enough. Tom's addition to the list will help I think.

Tibby, let's put the whole Theme-o-matic random selection thing on hold. There's no reason to do it now that all the "surprise me's" have dropped off the list. We're all a bit tired and busy and stressed right now anyway. We can revisit later if needed. No rush.
