IDK how I managed to keep guru status. That'll go next. Not that I care about it much.
The reason it was in General was for visibility and participation. And sticking with ECF and with e-cigs is the purpose of the forum. Pre-Vet was a motivation to stay with ECF and e-cigs....at least for a year. ON-TOPIC as far as I'm concerned!
Although protection from search engines is a valid point. Now I can't browse it without signing in. That could be good too I suppose, but I don't know of any actual situation as to why it would be good.
What are we exposing? "Yee Ha! Congratulations!" And pics.
Are there any "bandwidth use" issues that we need to know about when posting pics?

Yes I do, I copy it right off the list and I also add EST at the end so they know the time zone. I also tell them any questions to let us know.

atty, my main problem is that we are now being classified as being ''off-topic'' - i think this is just one too many setbacks for pvt. to put all this work and effort into a thread to show newcomers and prevets alike we are a community that values each member and his/her efforts and accomplishments and then to end up in the lounge ........................
i feel like the only one who supported our efforts was classy. up till now i thought we should honor our contest commitment even if we were not in favor of it to begin with but i'm not so sure anymore

No prob Tibs, I really wanna start getting solid confirmation, people adjust schedules/stay up late etc. to be on line. I don't wanna take it to chance like this - I feel like we need solid "yes" I will be here, granted things can change, RW issues, but some people sign up months in advance and can completely forget while people scramble to be on line.

Not me. After a friend turns I'm out if I get that far without being banned.
and one other thing - what would have been the harm in leaving things alone till the end of the year? as atty said, it's not up to us to choose where ecf prefers the thread. but we were hanging in and honored our commitment to a year-long contest even when the originator of that contest is long gone.
now we belong with ''chit chat'' i'm sorry but i value my time more than that. i've been hanging with the snails for years in the lounge and have very much enjoyed it. but i would never give as much time as pvt takes to keep a chit chat thread going ....

Tibs, as I, and so many others, see it, PVT is a working thread, not a chit-chat thread. God knows how many times we have all had to drop whatever we were doing to attend avatar parties (that were IMPOSED on us, if I may add).
If this thread is not moved back to its original place for the remainder of the year, I can't go on.
I suggest that ECF moves the word-game contests to the Lounge first. And other chat threads.

apparently nobody else perceived us in that way, tweety. i really thought we were doing good for ecf. losing whis was a big set back but i thought it was really worth a try to move on and preserve the spirit of the thread ............
