we can blame it all on j0ker - he promised weeks ago to revamp links and faq 
i was actually thinking of asking you to approach J0ker, Tibs. The easiest solution might be for the link in the contest thread to point directly to PVT. That would eliminate an extra click through. (Even though the FAQs say that people can ask any vet to start a welcome thread, no one has ever done that)
The potential downside is that we'd mostly get people who only care about the contest. but since we don't have a presence in any other way, that might be the way to go.

the exception might be coming up! yimmie has not answered my pm and our rules say the prevet has to ask us. remember, turtle stopped by to see if we could start the thread anyhow?

The FAQs say that any vet can start it- so turtle could do so and still stay within the published TOS - that we be asked to start it has never been put into place as part of the rules.
If no one else has any objections, I would rather just have the link point to PVT.

There's a few outdated links in the contest FAQ's due to the move of PVT or some such. Who is it (JJ or J0ker) that maintains this? Whomever, please update the links.
There's a word "here"... that should point to the list and/or just back to the PVT.
A reference to PMing Whiskey that should be removed.
Several references to the PVT via an outdated google shortened link.
Maybe it could just be reviewed when whomever gets a chance?????????

i think a link going directly to the first page of PVT from the contest thread is the simplest solution. if updates are needed for the first post there, then classy could do it- but at least a link directly to PVT gets people to the right place
Yeah...well I respect your opinion CES and if I had understood that better/read back better maybe I would have phrased the e-mail differently.
No matter though. The flip side is that the FAQs were there for a reason and I don't want to get into the "who creates it" debate with 2.5 months left. As long as the links are fixed, that should be sufficient. If there was a long term issue, I'd worry about it more but with 2.5 months left...meh.

that works fine for me. The dead end was what i really wanted to have fixed, however it was done. Thanks for contacting JJ and following up with it
..and yeah, i don't really think it'll make much of a difference, otherwise someone would probably have gotten a PM asking about it long before now.

i suspect that we all sort of keep an eye on the thread...if a prevet popped in there'd be a good likelihood that someone would answer pretty quickly..but i don't think that it'll really be a worry. Even so, with the links fixed there's no real need to bother j0ker.
except for the numerous reports during our heyday that the faqs were more confusing than anything.
