Regulated is nice. But imo its form factor is not.

An 18650 SMPL mech mod + something like a rogue rda is probably 1/3 or less the footprint that my sigelei 100w would take up.

I suppose if you carry your box mods in a bag or purse its no issue, but being active day to day with a box mod + rda / RTA in your pants is pretty aggravating to me.

But I agree that regulated mods getting the same vape start to finish is quite wonderful.

optionally, you could opt to not cloud chase on the go - thats usually how I roll, but to each their own, just please don't be obnoxious about it :)

If you're a low wattage vaper using simple clear's, go with a regulated device such as an iStick. They have 20, 30 and now 50W capabilities. I have a Hana DNA30 clone and it's perfect, not too big in the pocket depending on the tank I'm using. I also use this mod for my RDA's (thought I'm upgrading to a Sig 100+ very soon) and it performs well. With the prices of regulated mods coming down, I don't see why you'd need a mech assuming that my guess on how you'll use it is correct.

It's the dawn of a new era; it's time to put this mech = high wattage thing to bed. The regulated box arms race has surpassed mechs and pretty much moves them to an aesthetic decision.

I'm not a fan of the boxes and use a tube mech myself, but the Kamry 100w slug looking reg is intriguing to me. If it has a good connector setup like the Sig 150 does, I may go for it.

It's purely aesthetic. Regulated mods now have the capability to outperform mech mods in every way, other than looks and construction. Most box mods are just that - boxes.

lol
Except reliability... And durability.

Hey couldn't the OP just read one of the other 10k threads exactly like this one?

Even better, maybe the mods can make an entire sub forum for mech vs regulated threads.

Is the Kick no longer a bridge between these two??

Not any more.
With regulated devices available with over 150watts, a 15w kick just isn't in the ballpark for many users.
The two biggest factors are reliability and simplicity.

Mechs are basic reliable devices that can easily be user serviced.
Regulated devices,not so much.
Regulated devices have lifespans...mechs are eternal.

I like unregulated. I have a ton of mech mods, but I also like unregulated box mods. Its just the way that I build my atomizers that makes them work so well. And I don't like having to think about volt limits, amp limits, etc... i just use ohms law and build accordingly. Lately, I have been building very low (.1 ohm range... lower than any regulated would fire), but I have been using these builds safely on unregulated boxes that take 2 or 3 parallel high amp 18650s. You don't need to build that low for a great vape though, I am just having fun with my unregulated mods. I just like them. And I like building atomizers for them. And, sometimes, I like building my own mods without any fancy chips. I think unregulated requires a bit of skill to vape exactly the way you desire, but I prefer it this way and don't need some beginner device to hold my hand.
