thanks buddy! gotta learn about mods and whatnot. i am new at all this.

mods are worth it IMO but many disagree. Depending on how you set it up, a good ego style can do you just fine, though you can get more, in a safer manner, with a mod. But here there be dragons and you'll quickly find your pockets getting flatter. OOOO that one is shiny, oooo I need a backup, oooo I need a regulated, oooo subohm etc etc etc.

One thing I will say for sure. the topper and juice make more difference in the quality of your vape than the battery. Spend your money/time on that. Watts are watts, and up to a certain level, you can get the wattage you want on an ego by varying the coil resistance.

If I had to start all over, I would choose the MVP2. The battery life alone is enough to persuade me to make the decision. I have many expensive mods and love them all, but when I go out the door to work, I leave the expensive stuff at home. I take my MVP2 and an Aspire tank or two, and I'm golden. For years I took batteries with me and swapped them out, which is fine, but with the MVP, it is just too easy. I had two and my sister snagged one. Just bought myself another to replace it. I got kind of tired of carrying tube mods all the time. I really like the iclear 16b clearo as well.

If I were to start all over, I would go straight toward the MVP2 and/or Vamo with Surric tanks. I spent A LOT on various egos and things, and should have just bought the first two mods that caught my eye before I even really knew what all that stuff did. Now I have both and have been giving all the ego twists and evods to the family and friends. I still use both mods too, the MVP is for home or when I know I'm gonna be gone all day and want longer-lasting battery life, while the Vamo is typically my "out and about" piece. The Surric tanks are just awesome, high quality with a great vapeing experience to go along with the good looks.

Well, since the thread was resurrected, I'll give my 2 cents.

I'm newish, so take it with a grain of salt, but I've been asking myself the same question lately. While I feel I probably could have bypassed the whole eGo non-VV setup (and definitely the miserable cigalike experience before that), I anticipate continuing to use them because of their size, stealth and cheapness. Or maybe I'm justifying my mistakes, I don't know.

Other than that, I'd go for a pair of VV sticks for the road and a decent home mod. (They're all gonna do the job to some degree, but something reputable.) I like the Kanger triad head setup...Mini-pro-tank 2, pro-tank 2 and eVods. I've learned how to recoil them better than the factory, so it's not expensive to maintain and has been fairly reliable for me. The jury's still out on the pro-tank, as I haven't perfected it yet, but the mini and eVod's have been pretty solid for me.

I have a mod, and see myself doing RDA's/RBA's eventually, but I have no advice there yet. I think this type of system doesn't lend itself well to all situations and lifestyles, and at least for me, that why I'd do the whole eGo style route again.
