Hi all,

I bought an LT from elitevaporworks.com yesterday. Went and picked it up since they are local. I got this one: Elite Vaporworks Variable Voltage Tube Mod - 18650 Kit - Now with AW IMR Batteries - Mods

I've been vaping for about six weeks now and have only used an eGo-T with cartos, then the eGo-T type tanks and last weekend was introduced to these: Elite Vaporworks 510 DCT - Dual Coil Cartomizer Tank V2 - Chrome - 510 Cartomizers and Tanks

I'm using that tank at 5.0 volts with some ecblend RY4. There seems to be quite a difference in taste and definitely the amount of vapor I get out of it compared to my eGo batteries. So far I'm digging it.

Now on to my questions.

1. How long can I expect a battery to last before needing a recharge? i know it depends on how much I use it but i'd like to get an idea of what is average time of use. I would say I am a "heavy vaper" but don't know any other vapers so I don't have anyone to compare myself to.

2. How can I tell when it needs to be charged? Does something show up on the display? I realize that at some point it will just die but that can't be good for it. What should I look for to know that it is time to change the battery?

3. How long does it take to fully charge a battery? I'm color blind and can't tell the difference between the red and green light on the charger so if noone is at home with me, I'll have no idea when it is done. If I know that it should be around X hours or that it should not be on the charger longer than X hours, that will give me an idea of how long to leave it in the charger.

3. Is my current setup (the LT with the tank/cartos mentioned above) the ideal setup? I really like the convenience of the carto/tank and would like to stick with it but if there is a better way I would like to hear about it.

Thanks,
JG

1. I tend to go about from about a day and a half to two days between battery changes. It depends.

2. Mine will stop firing when it hits 3.4 volts? I think it is. If you hit the on/off button six times, the display will show the current voltage of your battery. Switch it out when it gets too low, you'll also notice a change in vapor production if it gets too low.

3. I'm not sure, as I really haven't paid attention to it. I usually just slap them in when they do down and take them off when I notice they're charged. The usual cycle for me is to put one on the charger before I go to bed or go to work and then pull it off in the morning or when I get back home. (Please note that this is dangerous as no one is around to unplug the charger if there's a massive failure.) I'll guess 5-6 hours? Somebody help me out here!

3. (4) Whatever works for you is the best. Personally, I use tanks/cartos and some ce2's. Sometimes I drip. I'm a bit wishy-washy in that respect. Ok, in a lot of respects, but this one in particular.

1. Depends on many factors, most of all your vaping pace. My guess on average without knowing more would be a day.

2. The specs say it has low volt protection that will shut it down when the battery gets to low, usually around 3.2-3.3v. Some have reported their LT having it and some say it doesn't, mine doesn't. I personally wouldn't trust it either way, my advice after doing some testing is just keep an eye on battery voltage, you can do this by pressing the red button 7 times in a row and it will give you the battery voltage, I charge mine when it hits 3.5v. I've found with mine when the battery gets down below 3.5 the loaded voltage start dropping, as long as I keep the battery at 3.5v or above it stays steady using a 3ohm load.

3. Depends on that charger as they will charge at different rates and I haven't used the charger that came in the kit. My WF-188 takes around 2.5 hours if the batter is needing a full charge. If you're unsure you can put the battery in the LT to check battery voltage using the 7 click method above, if it reads 4.1 or 4.2 it should be complete or almost complete. If you have to rely on this method very often I would advise getting a multimeter, it's more accurate. I'd advise getting one anyway if you don't already have one, every vapor should have one and they aren't expensive.

3. Purely preference, if it works for you it's the best. The only advice I can give here is stay with higher ohm when possible, the LT works better with higher ohms.

1)
I get about 16hours of use out of my AW IMR 1600mah batts with a 3.0ohm SCC carto tank.

2)
Should shutoff right around 3.3v on the battery. The screen will flash, and the device will not vape anymore.

3)
unsure with that charger, but the trustfire tr-001 charger will take about 5 hours, it gets the battery to 4.0 and then slows down and trickle charges it up to the 4.2v.

4)
Your set up is good but the volt setting is a waste of power, as the 1.5ohm DCC is gonna trip the limiter at like 4.1v so having it on 5v is just tripping the limiter and it is dropping you down to a safe amp limit.

Joe I must say I am impressed with your contributions to this subforum. With so many other vendors selling this unit now it is nice to know that you care about the community. I take my hat off to you sir.

in a box.
1. Im a heavy vapor also and my batteries last me a good 4-5 hours of constant vaping at 4.8 volts. I usually recharge them when the battery life hits 3.7

2. Never really killed off the battery before but i suppose that your lava tubes led would blink red? And also the amount of vapor might drop at high volts.

3. Usually charging from 3.7 batter life it takes me over 4-5 hours. I am using legit AW imps 18650's 1600mahs

4. Dual coils from what I read don't work at its full potential with VV's. I use a 3.0 boge cartomizer with a mini submarine tank. And the taste and tape i get from that is outstanding.

First I would like to thank everyone for their replies. This forum is such a great resource. I know that I would not have been successful in stopping the cigs and starting on e-cigs if it was not for all the info I've gathered from here.

Joe, if that is the case, what cartos should I be using to get the most benefit from this device? Should I just set mine to 4.1 or so? Am I causing the battery to drain faster with it set at 5.0?

This carto/tank setup is great as far as convenience goes. I also like that the carto has the flange at the bottom to prevent the tank from sliding down. Are there others out there that are similar to this one that I can use with these tanks that have the preferred electrical specs for the LT? Or should I start looking for a new tank when I exhaust my current supply (9) of cartos?
