I started out with one of these vile contraptions. When I'm unhappy with my current vape, I take it out, show it to myself, and tell myself how lucky I am. Sometimes a hard slap to my own face is also required.

I still have a few 808 batteries, several boxes of cartomizers, and some mini T4 tanks. Problem is I can't for the life of me find the charger. I have toyed with the idea of adding a new charger (and maybe another battery or two) to my next order just to use some of these things up...working in the yard etc. I just keep forgetting.

I never minded using the 808 stuff but I'm never going back to those things (CE2 ??) that needed a needle to fill. I might however, enjoy using the taryn spin on my cartos again...that was fun. Still have a dent in the wall when one got away from me.

Those were simple times when we all just discussed how to clean cartos (and whether it was worth it). You young whipper-snappers have no idea what it was like in the old days (3 years ago). We had to walk 5 miles to the vape shop in the snow...uphill...both ways.

I started in March of 2010 with some Joye 510 cig-a-likes. Tried the polyfill, bluefoam, and pyramid tea bag method to get a good vape. I ended up trying out dripping a couple weeks in from a thread I read on here. No turning back from that flavor. Moved on to a 14500 BB from altsmoke a couple months later. By the end of 2010 I was tired of dripping and all the hassles it was causing me trying to drive on the Autobahn. I needed something that worked while I was out and about. In comes the Ali'i from R&R manufacturing. I was in bottom fed vaping heaven. By May of 2011 I had dropped my Ali'i so many times it really didn't like staying together anymore, so I bought a Reo Grand. Still using my Grands as my only device to this day.

How about the sale night madness (still happens) back then. My Ali'i and Grand were fought for. I had to skin 9 year old for that man (quote from Grind).

My first experience was with my girlfriend's friend's 401 in 2009... I went home and did some research on it. Ended up buying a 510 no box kit from cignot. I still have one of the batteries in my junk drawer. Albeit it doesn't hold a charge anymore. I collected a few different models and suddenly was soldering rca plugs on my gear to make it "universal". We had all the tricks to try to get your cart to wick better. Then you had the drippers debridging their atomizers to get more vapor and flavor. We saw the first diy mods. A many flashlights and altoid boxes were sacrificed for the cause. The quirky ideas for getting a better hit such as the double atomizer mods/caps. We started experimenting with stacked batteries to get more voltage. There was no pressing a button and dialing up the voltage. Regulated voltage on your ego/cigalike was a big deal. Power regulated vaping was a pipe dream at the time. Temperature control... hell that was straight up sci-fi stuff. The ego came along and everyone that said I'm new to vaping was automatically directed to it no matter what they wanted. If they was having trouble it was like would you get an ego already. We started playing with some tank systems with it. Then we figured out we could put a cartomizer in a tank and punch holes in it to feed it. These worked well for what they was. Then came along the clearomizers. They was putting out a new one every week it seemed. Find one you liked a month later it was gone. The forum was flooded with which clearomizer is the best and why does this POS leak all over the place. We stumbled on to the acidic juices cracking the tanks and clearomizers. People were concerned... if this is happening to my tank what is happening to my lungs. Some manufacturers tried moving the coil to the top of the clearomizer which was good as long as you remember to tip it to feed the coil. The rebuildable stuff started hitting the market. We was using those little wicks and like 32 ga coils. It's been a long bumpy road to get to the cloud chasing mods we are at now...
