removed bridge from atty -- great flavor, but frequent dripping or else burnt flavor?

I've got nine juices coming from FSUSA tomorrow (!!!) -- a 60ml bottle of Wyatt Earp (awesome) and a bunch of 3ml bottles of flavors I've never tried, so even though I've been almost exclusively using cartomizers I figured I'd give dripping another shot earlier today because people here told me that it was best for testing new flavors

so I dripped all day today on the old 510 here -- definitely a learning curve, but stronger flavor and it seems like more vapor too, possibly even stronger throat hit -- not sure how, maybe because the filler in carts and cartos acts like a filter or something

whilst I was vaping I came across a video on youtube of a guy showing how to remove the bridge, and since I'd seen several of his videos before and he really seems to know his stuff I decided to give it a shot -- what the heck I've got another atty coming tomorrow anyway

so I pulled the bridge off and took the foil out and was blown away by how much more flavor there is dripping straight onto the coil of the atty, but the downside is that I can only really put one drop in there at a time, whereas with the bridge/foil on I could put the standard 3 in

I can put another drop in after I've taken a few puffs off the first one, but two at a time seems to be too much with the bridge taken out

for the amount of flavor I'm getting, it doesn't bother me that I have to drip another drop every 5-8 puffs, but I'm just wondering if it's normal to have to drip that often?

I'm asking because I find that if I don't put a new drop in every 5-8 puffs or so I get a nasty burnt flavor, but still tons of vapor (?)

is that flavor the leftovers of previous juices built up on the atomizer? am I vaping that nasty stuff the entire time and just not noticing because it's masked by fresh drips of juice?

normally you have to remove the wick as well...but you could have done that at the same time, or you may have been using a different kind of atty, if you did remove both or yours had no wick then yes the coil will dry out faster.

I found removing both the wick and the bridge made the draw way to light...it was like sucking in air.

If you do a dry burn on the atty...and it glows red all the way across it should be juice free, especially if you cleaned it while you were doing all of this (I had to do that to make sure I got all the metal from the bridge out)

there wasn't actually any wick in my atty -- that confused me too because the video I checked out before the one on removing the bridge was about removing the wick -- and I poked around in there and couldn't see any wick -- when I got around to taking out the bridge and foil I still didn't see any wick -- just the little coil at the bottom

I have been doing dry burns on the coil too though -- usually between juices - just blowing on it when it gets red for five seconds or so to get rid of some old juice

just a little concerned about what that burnt flavor could be and if it's there the whole time and I just don't notice because it's covered by the fresher juice

I mean, I could understand a burnt flavor and almost no vapor -- to me that would mean the atty coil was so dry that it was burning off dense residue that had built up over time, but to have just as much vapor coming out as normal while that burnt flavor is kickin just seems strange to me, and it goes away with a fresh drop

EDIT: and it doesn't seem to matter what flavor I'm rockin -- once I get 5-8 puffs off a drop of fresh juice I notice that same burnt flavor coming back

after soaking my atty in coke and tasting all my new 24mg FSUSA juices, here's what I think:

(I didn't include throat hit because they were all pretty medium -- a few were a little harsher and a few were a little milder)

EDIT: was just cruising the FSUSA forum here and found a topic about 'steeping' -- I had no idea you had to do that! so just bear in mind that my grades below are fresh out of the bottle scores

Cherry Cola
Accuracy: 8
FlavorStrength: 6
Overall: 8
Summary: not strong flavor, but DEFINITELY cherry cola -- a very nice blend of cola and cherry
Linger: 5

MaxBoro
Accuracy: 5
FlavorStrength: 8
Overall: 7
Summary: doesn't taste like a marb, but nice flavor strength
Linger: 5

Banana Cream Pie
Accuracy: 9
FlavorStrength: 9
Overall: 9+
Summary: frickin delicious -- subtle flavors emerge after first few puffs off fresh drip
Linger: 9 (notice BCP flavors even after several other flavors dry burning between each)

Baby Back Ribs
Accuracy: 8
FlavorStrength: 9
Overall: 4
Summary: like you just chewed a tiny piece of charred BBQ meat hehe, a bit too smoky tasting
Linger: 10 (this flavor just won't leave the atty, had to soak it in coke for a half-hour to get rid of it)

American Spirit
Accuracy: 8
FlavorStrength: 8
Overall: 8
Summary: very nice tobacco-ey flavor
Linger: 5

Cream Soda
Accuracy: 8
FlavorStrength: 7
Overall: 7
Summary: accurate enough, decent flavor strength, just not that interesting
Linger: 4

Candy Apple
Accuracy: 3 (should be 'Apple Candy', tastes almost exactly like green Now & Laters)
FlavorStrength: 7
Overall: 5
Summary: decent taste up front, but aftertaste is kind of like dish detergent
Linger: 9 (takes quite a while to completely lose the apply flavor from your atty after switching juices)

Licorice
Accuracy: 5
FlavorStrength: 6
Overall: 5
Summary: not a stong anise flavor, but pleasant enough
Linger: 3

Wyatt Earp
Accuracy: 9+ (if it's supposed to taste like cigar/pipe tobacco)
FlavorStrength: 9+
Overall: 9
Summary: just a great all around juice with a great throat hit at 30mg
Linger: 8

Wins/Ton
Accuracy: 6
FlavorStrength: 8
Overall: 6
Summary: definitely tobacco-ey, hints of Skoal smell?
Linger: 4
