So being relatively new to this, I know I have run my attys dry a few times. So yes, they taste like crap and I know it is my fault. I removed their bridges and wicks for dripping, but they still taste burnt. Is there a way to get rid of this or are they trashed? They still light up great and produce great vapor, just crappy taste. I did remove the bridge and wick from a new one and it tastes great, so it ust be something burnt onto the coil. Any tips?

I have seen so many people complaining about the burn taste, after a year doing 510 It has never happened to be, but don't worry we have a lot of info in here very soon someone it going to answer your question
I just keep adding a drop or two until the taste goes away. I get the taste any time my atty gets dry. I use attys with and without the bridge, and it's the same on all of them. It sucks, especially when you aren't expecting it.

I was amazed at how much liquid it took to get the atty tasting good. This was after cleaning and dry burning until there was absolutely nothing left in the atty.
I mess up and do this pretty often. I drip and have lately mainly been using an atty with the bridge removed, which may make a difference in the ease of getting rid of the burnt taste--less singed wick material. Generally, a good atty blow-out does it for me.
Look up how to do a dry burn for cleaning the atty. That should remove the taste.
OMG I know! I always do a good dry burn on new atomizers after I blow out the primer and then start priming with my own liquid before vaping and I added 12 today without it leaking it blew my mind
And also to the OP- my advice may be pretty juvenile and amateur but when you're vaping, especially dripping, you don't have a second source of liquid gettin to the atomizer and maaaaybe you aren't adding liquid frequently enough to the atomizer

Dripping or direct dripping is when you drip 1 or 2 drops of e-juice directly on the bridge of the atomizer and vape.

I have done a dry burn on mine and everything and i still get a burn taste at times.....but i just got some new ones and they dont have that taste...i can tell they are from two diffrent companies...but i dont know how to tell who made them....so i think it is just that specific brand that you are using.

This actually happened to me too and I am also new here. Someone suggested that I soak the atty in warm water for a few minutes and give it a good rinse. Then blow all of the excess water out of it and let it dry on a paper towel over night. In the morning, prime it with a few drops of ejuice. It worked pretty well for me.
New here also. First 510 already burned up after just three weeks. I think this was probably user error and not any fault with the atty. Not sure what I did wrong, but I think perhaps too much dry burning.
On second thought, after having removed the bridge, I see the coil inside is solid black. Looks like it's covered in burned sugar. Could it be that I'm holding the button too long?
This is what mine look like, and these are the ones with the burnt taste. My other new/clean ones have no bad taste at all.
Have you tried soaking the atty in DIET-soda overnight and then rinsing in warm water? Don't use regular soda because it contains sugar. Or should I say HFCS. Use diet-soda.
There are other ways which are more dramatic but I would suggest the D-Soda soak first.
