If it's paint, which I assume it is... an acetone soak (in a sealable metal container preferred - in a well ventilated environment) will dissolve the paint.
You probably already know this, but just in case - Make sure... no matter what solvent you use... that you completely disassemble the base tanks and cap, removing all seals, o-rings and insulator.
I would try soaking in oven cleaner for 8 hours. Just rinse in hot water and wash afterwards. The good stuff can remove most paints a few kinds of chrome and some anodizing.
if its an anodize finish oven cleaner will remove it all, just get easy off oven cleaner spray all the surfaces area and let it sit for an hour. Now a word of caution make sure you wear gloves and use goggles and do it outside where there is no wind to blow the oven cleaner back onto you. once all the parts are color free put them into boiling water to soak and rinse thoroughly. I do my own anodizing and its a very easy process all the information be found online.
One thing you have to remember is no finish is forever alcohol and solvents will always be an issue. Just have to remember not to use anything that can remove the finish and your gold. I have seen alcohol ruin even type III anodizing for a quick clean its ok for soaking not so much.
It's an authentic. Dude this thing is a beast. I'd buy it all over again. We'll I scrubbed the finish off with a scotch brite pad and it's looking pretty good!! The russian I received had a chip of paint missing from the build deck and the outer coating looked somewhat uneven.. I still love the thing tho.. Just ordered an authentic kayfun lite plus today to try it out. I love these tanks!!!
I didn't realize the finish came off so easy. Followed the instructions on this board that called for a vodka soak and the black is completely ruined now. Looks awful. So sad... Bahhhhhhhhh
Mine is an authentic as well. Paid extra for the black too... Baaaaahhhh...
So should I go about the same process to remove it all. It's probably not good to vape on in its current condition?
Did it fade the black to a brownish color? That's what mine did.. There are multiple ways of doing it by soaking in different chemicals. Not sure which ones though.. I did it with a scotch brite pad because that's all I had..
