I have about 10 buttons that look like that. Never really fixed it but being very sparse on the noalox and using higher ohm coils seems to have prolonged the button life. batteries were never my problem I have about 30 in rotation that are constantly checked via Multimeter.
Edit: I have one of the newer grands with the thick coat of color on it so I started wondering about grounding issues. I started checking with a Multimeter where exactly it grounded to, the spring was OK but removing it showed that only the screw hole was allowing a proper ground. I took Sandpaper and removed the finish beneath the spring plate until I got a solid ground everywhere it was in contact with. I haven't had an issue since then at all (usually would have seen a spark by now for sure). It'd be worth a try if your situation sounds similar.
