Well my experiences with my new Reo have been a little bit meh..I like lots of flavour around .4 ohms and just hadn't found it yet with my RM6 and other attys.
Received my Derringer today, drilled it out and without any great expectations built it at a dual 26, 5 wrap on a 2.5mm inside diameter
(came out to ~ .38 ohm) and HOLY COW.. this setup actually outperforms my best rda setup (copper Plumeveil on a copper Nemesis).
Absolutely impressed and very happy.
Thanks also to Papa for pointing me in the right direction for some good batteries.
Greased up both ends with some Noalox and I can't get over the performance.

Glad you like that, I know a few people that want a Derringer for their Reo. I'm satisfied with the Odin to want to try other atty's
That's 11 amps or so at .38 ohms I believe if my calculations are correct, but a lot of batteries can handle that quite easily @supersport13 for example I think the AW IMR 18650 1600mah have an amp rating of 24 amps.

Great feedback and now I'm even more excited for me D's to arrive.

Now that I'm pretty much a dedicated REO-pyte I'm enjoying the wonderful experience of BF modding my favorite attys. Love the Odin, looking forward to the Derringer and the Freakshow Mini and going to send in my Magma to CH for some modding...I almost have too many attys and need to get more REO's LOL

I pretty much have to say the D has become the "go to" RDA for me...I've got an original and 2 clones and I'll be getting a couple more clones (zero difference in vape or quality so meh, $20 bucks it is)...they're a bit sloppy juice wise which may put some off but I could really care less, squonking is not without is sloppyness. They don't make quite the same flavour level as the Magma's (still a tough RDA to beat imo) but at half the height and 1/3 the weight...I'll take it. You do have to squonk them a lot more than the Magmas though...I still like that well, I may raise the horz. hole on one of the next ones to kill some of the drainage...see if that makes a diff.

Do you see any difference in flavor squonking vs dripping? I love the Magma and can't wait to get it modded for BF. Gonna grab a Vengeance but the Magma will be hard to beat [emoji6]

You in on the Vengeance, Quigs? Looks to be a Magma V2.

Odd that you say the D is sloppy. I can't for the life of me get it to leak on me.

Probably not at first, I usually wait and see if there's still a buzz on an RDA long after it's release (because it really is that good) then I tend to grab a clone, especially if it's made by Ehpro or Infinite (never a tobeco, hate them). Only reason I grabbed a D was because of it's form factor for a mod I was building, the fact that's its also an awesome little RDA is a bonus :p...I'm mostly into mod building over RDA collecting.

I'm not knocking the D for being a sloppy RDA, it's probably (definitly) me, I'm a squonk till it bleeds kind of guy, I just find the D less forgiving than others (it's the afc set-up)...and I know I'm an anomaly, I read everywhere that Magma's are known as leakers, I've got 4 Infinite clones and I can't get them to leak so take what I say with a grain of salt :D

I don't drip often seeing as most all my mods are bf's but when I do, no, I can't tell the diff. and I can't see how anyone really could, I don't think it matters if the juice comes up from the bottom or dripped down from above...but I could be wrong.

I would have to agree with Quigs on the sloppy part of the Derringer. I am not saying it is sloppy on the outside, mine is sloppy on the inside. When I remove the top cap there is a ton of condensation all around the outside of the AFC sleeve. I think it might have something to do with the lip on the AFC sleeve. Even when I remove the top cap, I can see a juice ring around the inside of the top cap where the ledge is. I don't think the AFC sleeve fits flush against the top cap at all. There is a very small gap and that is where all the condensation creeps over and down the sides of the AFC sleeve inside the top cap. I am not saying the Derringer isn't a great atty. Just a little room for improvement is all. Maybe if the lip was done away with or the top cap actually rested on top of the ledge? I really enjoy the authentic I am sporting on one of my grands. However, I do find myself reaching more for the grand with the Mephisto on top though... There is just something special about that atty. I just rebuilt one of mine yesterday and tried a different wire gage in it at lower Ω's and it is just so smooth and satisfying. Will I ever part with my Derringer? I really don't think so!! I do enjoy it very much and it is a great vape with huge or small airflow.

This, for sure. The afc ring gets doused.

Also agree that the Mephisto is a good'n.
