Hello everyone i would like to address a couple of questions here on the reo forum as my Reo grand is currently on board with postal driver for delivery today :) I think i was the luckiest person as i was able to buy a roe grand black wrinkle on the site last week, after i had bought it i went back on the site and there is not one grand left in stock, so i consider myself very lucky!

Now with the questions, I would like to know simple answers on the best way to start this beauty up?
what i have in my arsonal is
*5 IKV io6 LR atties with special siam mods SS sleeve which goes over the io6 and then i am able to use my cherry vapes SS ming.
*5 joyce 510 LR atties.
*2 AW IMR 18650 2000mah batts

Now im not into RBA's I'm just a vaper who started with cleros, then carto tanks, then tried dripping but was a PITA!

So please can any of you experts fill me with all your great knowledge on how to start up my reo grand which arrives tomorrow.
I have been trying to drip the last week to get a feel for what its like to vape with an attie as before i was all about carto tanks on a provari. I have been getting really annoyed at dripping coz sometimes i get juice in my mouth and sometimes i get that horrid dry hit! ive been using LR atties which i have written above and using them on a provari at 3.7V

Im here that the squawking thingo is the joy of using the reo has you dont have to have a bottle by your side and keep adding drops to your attie. So whats the best way to start squawking? and how can i get the best of my reo with what i have, i just dont want to get really angry when i get it tomorrow because im not doing things right. I was lucky enough to buy this beautiful reo grand so i dont want it collecting dust.

Thank you in advance

First I must say congratulations on your new REO!

You will have to be home to sign for delivery. Make sure you or someone is there.

The atty's you have are great! You will get a nice vape off the L.R. atty's with your Grand. Also you do have the right batteries! YaY! Very important to have the AW IMR with the L.R. atty's.

There will be a instruction sheet in with your Grand. You will fill the bottle, put in the battery, screw on the atty and be ready to squonk.

A lot of us do the blind squonk. Just take a draw and squeeze the bottle at the same time. Not firing. It only takes a little push and a slow draw. You will hear the juice gurgle and feel a slight resistance as the juice moves up the tube. That first time it will take more time because the tube is not primed with juice. After it is then it only takes a second to squonk the juice into the atty.

There is a learning curve. Most of us have had the dry hits and have flooded our attys. With a little time and practice it becomes second nature.

Lots to read on this forum. Check out the index thread here:

Feel free to post how you are doing with your Grand and we want a pic! Always here to help if you have more questions!

Thank you very much for your quick reply, what feel i want to do is run the joyce LR atties first coz i have a nice RuiP 510 carbon fibber drip shield which will make the black wrinkle grand look nice :) I have already primed one joyce LR 510 attie with some golden virgina 18mg 70/30 pg mix, and its sitting in the drip shield awaiting to be screwed onto the REO :)
So i should always blind squonk? without firing and how many consecutive vapes does a blind squonk get me before i have to do it again?
Also i prefer the joyce LR 510 atties to the i06 as the draw is more nicer when i was dripping IMO. so are they still good reasonable atties to be used with the grand? and i will defiantly post a pick when i get the chance.
Thank you so much again for your very quick replies, im waiting to get through my nightshift ATM so i can stay up and wait for the postman :) anymore replies would be much appreciated

Joye lr attys work great on the reo. How many hits you get before you have to squonk again has too many variables to give an answer. Ballpark would be 5-10 but that can vary alot. You will know by the vape if its time to sqounk again just like you would know if you're dripping. Its not science, more an an art and you'll catch on very fast. If you do happen to flood the atty just take it off and wipe out the catchcup and blow the excess out of the atty and vape again. The joye 510s are one of the easiest attys to vape with. Don't overthink it. Its easy. Congratulations on getting a great mod that will last for years, vapes great and easy to use.

WELCOME CHAS!

I also have a black wrinkle, it's beautiful! Are your batts coming at the same time? Oh no!:laugh:It's hell waiting for them to reach a full charge!
We have a pic thread called The Real Us for folks to post a pic of themselves so we can have a visual and I don't think we have any Aussies( hint, hint)

Oh..and pics of the Reo or it didn't happen:)

LR Joye 510 attys are a good choice to start with. If you're finding the draw too tight, remove the drip shield. It only takes approximately 3 drops to prime a 510 atty, so you won't have to squeeze the Grand's juice bottle very hard at all. Especially when it's full. You also don't need any juice sloshing around in the Grand's reservoir, but it's handy in case you overfeed the atomizer. The excess juice will drain into the reservoir and get "slurped" back up into the atty on subsequent draws. Most users get 3 to 5 good vapes before having to squonk more juice to the atty. It depends on how you vape. Longer, deeper pulls will require more squonking. You'll get a feel for it with a little trial and error. Be sure not to over-tighten your attys when screwing them into your Grand.

Enjoy your Reo. :)

As Loren said, the variables on drawing make it tough to say how many hits you will be able to take. I find about 5-6 for the way I vape. You will notice the same as dripping, less flavor and vapor when juice is low.

I really like the i06. The draw is tighter but great vapor and flavor on my REO's.

My go to atty's are the Joye L.R. 1.5 510 and the Joye L.R. 1.5 306. I can buy them in bulk for less than $5 apiece. When I don't have my RBA's up and running one of the Joye keeps me going.

Please add your REO household to this thread: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/reos-mods/217670-reo-roll-call.html

Welcome, Steamtrain. We're sure you're gonna love your new REO. That said, let me reiterate a dire warning always given to REO newbies, and often ignored.

Either use a lower nic juice than you're used to, on your first few days of starting out, or be VERY careful how much you vape, many of us vaped ourselves into a nic coma when we first got them, just because: It works, it's easy, it's fun, it's easy and it works even better than we thought it would. And it's fun, too :)

Congratulations Jas on getting a REO. Just be sure the center post on any of your attys do not extend beyond it's threads, sometimes attys work on different mods but a REO can be picky about that. Happy vapes going your way bro!!

That is a very good point Nutz! Awhile back someone bought some new cartos or atty's and collapsed the spring in their REO. Upon investigation it was determined that the center post on the bottom was extended.

Even if you have used a atty on another device you still need to check it.

New cartos and atty's should always be checked before putting them on. It is something that I myself sometimes forget to do!

Thank you sweetie for the reminder!

That is a very valid point. When I switched from carto tanks to Reo with a Reomizer (and later when I build my genesis correctly), I got some unexpected nicotine buzz. Not necessarily from it being easier or more fun. Those both were producing more vapor, possibly at a different temperature. I have a completely unfounded theory that some coils burn nicotine off rather than vaporize it.

Either way, be careful. If, being a former 1.5 PAD smoker, I managed to get a buzz, that's a lot of nic :)

Your Welcome Karen. I think the most discouraging thing for a noob is for a short that results in a collapsed spring and or melted button.

Jas, if the atty works on another device before going on the RG you don't need to meter for resistance but on one thats never been used I would check it first. Shorted atty or extended center post creates a condition that can cause the spring to collapse (melt). This is the RG's short protection so the batt don't blow or anything. If the spring does collapse you need to replace it, it can't be stretched for further use to be safe.
