Here's half my collection hanging out in the radio room with me. [click for full image]

The ReoGrands are sub-ohm builds with Dead Rabbit rda's and the ReoMini 2.1 is a Dead Rabbit with a micro coil build [1.2ohm] due to battery limits.

I've been experimenting with the Mini and the Dead Rabbit rda to see where to put the Ohms for a MTL or STL hit. so far i think the best way to rock the mini is 1.2ohm micro using 30g round wire and a 2mm coil. Then, set both big bore air holes wide open but with a 510 drip tip.

by doing this, you get a decent cloud, cool vape for STL hit.

I've been finding that a MTL hit has been a challenge to figure out [especially with battery limits]

Nice collection :thumb:

Personally, I find trying to find a good MTL with most 24mm or bigger atties is a challenge and the results are usually at most okay, at least compared with a lot of 14mm atties (exceptions exist for certain 24mm atties built for single coil - eg shift bf). Plenty available at $10 or less if you wanted to experiment.

Given your DL'ing style (ie non-exclusive MTL preferences) and wire choices, I'm thinking a nice O-16 with a z-coil (say, 3mm ID 28g wire) would get you to the range you want and not overtax the small bat. It does quite nicely in terms of variable air flow so you could really dial in the draw.

Thanks for the input. I actually just bought 6 new 14 and 22mm atty’s from a china vendor. I’m very picky on the decks I like and finding a 14mm deck that’s as easy to build on such as the RM2 or the rabbit has been a challenge as well. (Deck + air flow) I mean.

As a side note, I’ve been enjoying the beserker mtl atty on my provari too. I like it better with the short chimney.

I wanted to ask earlier but didn’t have a chance to get back on ecf.

What is a z-coil and do you have a picture of one?

Z-coil just refers to the shape of the coil once mounted. In cross section, it looks like the letter 'z'. Primarily, it's just a way to centrally position a single coil in an atty that has dual air inlets so that the air is even to the coil on both sides, and it involves bending the coil legs in opposite directions for the mounting.

Our own Reonaut, <adjective>Sloth, has made a video about both the O-16 little atty and the z-coil...

Well, if you really want a good build deck in a flavour chasing single coil MTL atty (with decent variable air) for use on a mini, the O-16 is good, as are the shift bf, viper V2, narda, and nipple. I believe all but the shift have clones. Personal tastes vary, of course, and I hear you about finicky build decks on 14mm atties. I've made my peace with the chalice, speed, graal, nutz, nopain, etc. but, man, they can be a PITA to work with.
