Got a few hours sleep before the heat and humidity hit. It's really not that bad right now. Highs are only in the high 80's to 90 right now. Plus, the a/c kinda works. It works for a couple of hours a day, then freezes up. It could be much worse. Have to call maintenance AGAIN.

I'll never forget the summer that I lived in a trailer without a/c. That last summer I decided (in a very Gone With the Wind sorta way) that I would NEVER go another summer without a/c.
Hopefully you'll have it going soon? :thumb:
Probably. But, we'll be moving in 2 or 3 weeks anyway. I hope the a/c in that apartment works ok. At least, the new apartment is on the first floor and only has a couple of small windows with southern exposure.

Another year the actual A/C unit needed replaced and luckily the owner wasn't a cheapo, but it was still like two and a half days with all the work loads of the A/C people this time of year...
The summer my son was born, the a/c went out while I was in the hospital having him. It broke down a few times that summer. They kept fixing it. But, when it was out, the thermometer in the apartment topped out at 120 degrees before it got to the hottest part of the day. We lived in an upstairs apartment on the SW corner of the building!

I was only 21 back then. I couldn't do it now. No way.
Indiana has been having some unusually cool weather the past few days. Windows wide open weather. I ended up putting on my hoodie on with the jammies while I was still up and on the 'puter last night. Mind you I'm not complaining, I'll take a lower electric bill anytime mother nature feels like providing the discount.
49 degrees and rainy here in NE Washington. Just started a fire in the wood stove and it feels nice.
When I was younger, I always intended to move up north to get away from Texas heat. Never did. But, my oldest daughter did. She lived in San Francisco for years. Now, she lives in Scotland. And, all her travels started because of the heat.

I've always dreamed of living in the mountains, away from the hellish summer heat we have here. But I guess I am stuck with it. It is either super hot here, or cold. Rarely do we have the nice spring, and fall. But at least we don't freeze to death here. You may drop from heat exhaustion though. The older I get, the less I can deal with this heat. Having your hormones flip flopping around is not pleasant, especially in July, Aug, Sept. I hope my a/c can hold out another summer. The thought of having hot flashes without a/c is not something I even want to contemplate.

Where in the world is Kay?

Have a good morning, airedale!

... and she'll never feel heat again, there.
That's for sure!

I've always dreamed of living in the mountains, away from the hellish summer heat we have here.
Me too. Some people dream of the ocean. I've always dreamed of the mountains.

My favorite time of year is the fall. It's cooler and windy. So fresh! Besides, it means the worst of the heat is over. So, time to relax.

Been kinda lonely in here this morning....
It sure has. It's been that way all over ECF tonight. I think people are recovering.
