Helo REOnauti,

I'm glad to present my AKA Reo Mini, that allows me to use the IMR 18490 1100mA batteries.

What i do, and will do;

- I cut the divider inside.

- Adjust the spring down a little more to the center of the battery.

- For next week, I will mill a bit inside Reo, the space needed, within in order to lower the 18490, to allow put the door .... usually it will cause the appearance of an opening in the back.

- I will put a hardwood panel at the rear, due to the opening hole that will arise, due to the milling required to lower the battery.

- I will show later this work completed, perhaps in a week.

NOTE to mods: I do not know if we can show here our AKA works, if we can't, I'm so sorry:(, and feel free to delete this thread.

Temporarily while I don't do the milling, I'll use something like this.

Are you using a Milling machine to do this? I have a mini mill.....I'd like to grab a used mini and try something like this.

I haven't yet miller, because I haven't a milling machine, but what I'll do, when i have one on hand, will be this;

and if the rear opening, looks great, seeing a bit the battery, possibly even will not put the wood panel, just see.

edit:

To mark the milling area, you must put a white paper placed inside, then put a little paint soluble in battery meter in the REO, and so will be marked on the sheet of paper, the milling area, giving a little discount in width.

We have some creative people on ECF; that's for sure. I personally would rather DIE than do ANYTHING to my precious little Mini. I'd change out batteries 15 times a day before I'd ever even (intentionally or otherwise) put one scratch on my Mini....let alone amputate any little piece of it. I know people do things to mods, and I'm not criticizing....I'm just saying no way for me. Ever. Ever, ever, ever.

I know:D, but how I love the batteries IMR 18490, and for me, GRAND already out of size and weight that I like, so I had to do something in mini ...... I am delighted with the production of vapor with these batteries in the mini .

The yellow stuff is a piece of cover of a folder of documents.

Mark it up, send it to me and I'll mill it out for ya.

Thanks buddy, but I know one person in my town that has a milling machine, is a matter of combining with it.

grateful for availability.:toast:

Phase 2 done!

......a temporary cover, until I make the milling in order to place the source port.

I used a piece of synthetic fabric.

I do not need the door window, because the fabric is soft and allows the bottle presses.wrong! it needs!

and 3 ml of liquid me hard all day, so do not need to see the amount of liquid inside.

Phase 3 will be the milling, and put the source port.

It's now impossible to go back to using RMI 14500, these 18490 have lasted me all day, with the same performance.:vapor:

thx Rhapsodies.

Edit:

After all i decide to open the window, was not squonk very well, now it is.

I don't know. I hope that he will post here. :)

I hope so...:rolleyes:........ to have been able to close the door, he had to mill the entire thickness of the aluminum rear panel Reo, one of the two, or leave the opening open or smack with something with an aluminum plate, steel, wood or any other material.

If you know techno, you could send him a PM for him to come here to lend a hand in powered Reo Mini Aka.

here is the outline of what is required milling.

Wouldn't it be nicer and easier if you just made a new front door with an offset bumping it out a little bit so you didnt have to cut out the back. Just a little L bend where the grove is so the door came up and out a little bit and grind out the center wall divider. Just a thought because all you need is about 1/4" so just making a new front door would work and look nice too, same door Rob make with just that 1/4 offset in it to give you enough Batt room.

Also thought about it, the problem is that the door to run, either above or below, needed to have the concave shape of the drum part that gets left out, and even after closing, this space docking, would be in sight, I hope you understand what I am saying.

I think as I have conceived will not be bad, can even look beautiful, seen to be considering applying a panel of hardwood in back and possibly a equal to the door with a window cut ..... will be very thin panels of wood and varnished, glued to the REO.

It would be phenomenal if Rob even think of selling Reo mini with this option 18490, after all the block is the same, just a milling and two panels of wood, with the additional cost, of course.:blush:
