FWIW, battery "numbers" are supposed to tell you the dimensions of the battery (in mm's).

E.G., 14500= 14mm wide X 50mm long (the 0 at the end means it's round)
18650= 18mm wide X 65mm long, etc.

That said, manufacturers don't always take into account the 2mm that a protection circuit adds to the length, but that's how it's supposed to work, anyway.

I must add to this that the battery length is very important. The REO's have a collapsible spring. That means that in case of a short they will collapse and the battery will no longer be in reach of the firing pin.

When longer than recommended batteries are used this safety function is disabled. The battery will still connect and might cause further damage to the REO.

So, in a nutshell, do not compress the spring with a long battery!
