I did an advanced search for "reo mini 18500" and found many posts that say you can use 18500 flat tops.
This thread folks say 18500's work, one person mentions a longer throw versus button tops.

Hey gang! Even though I have others, the Reo Mini is still my go to favorite. Time for a few new batts and I see AW is still not producing the 18490. :( I'm guessing my next choice should be Efest 18500 but I'm wondering if I should grab flat...
