Does that Woodvil fire anything? Do you have anything else to try on it e.g. a carto even?

Because your atty sounds fine. Is there a switch in the new woodvils like the old ones that you have to turn on? ;)

Just asking.

T

If 2015: Turn... button... to... the... right... See what happens.

If 2014: Did you turn the switch off?

Ok. I just put an AW button top in with a different atty. It fires. Hummm. It fires with different atty and an LG, too. So, how can I get it to fire with the Manta (which is my fav!)?

I'm sorry that I didn't think to try a different atty before I posted. Sometimes my brain refuses to engage!

My first guess would be the 510 on the Woodvil needs to be adjusted for the Manta. I seem to recall reading those had a shorter 510 on them...

The battery change really shouldn't have anything to do with it in a 2015 Woodvil, being as how the battery positive contact is fixed and doesn't mechanically interact with anything else.

Gotta be something about your 510 adjustment. Did you remember that it's backwards? Right to raise, left to lower.

I lowered as far as it would go. Perhaps when I tried to raise it, I didn't raise it enough. I'm going to get the Allen wrench and try again. Thanks :)

i suggest the Manta 510 is not low enough to make contact with the Reo 510. They are not an atty i use, but if other atties work on that Reo, you can raise the Reo 510 or hopefully lower the pin in the atty.

That's one of those top air atties isn't it? Never leaks etc ;)

Choked of air! :D

Hello--I've been away a year and now that I'm back, I see a new REOS mod-P67. Is there anyone with arthritis in their hands and fingers who can tell me if this one is easier to squonk and push the power button? I LOVE my LP grand, but it is harder and harder to use it. TIA

I have four of them and arthritic hands..they are extremely comfortable, especially with the side button!

I just tried raising the REO 510, 2 full turns. It still won't fire. I have no idea how to lower the 510 on the atty. I think the moral of this story is going to be to use the Manta on the Woodvils it likes, and use something else on that one Woodvil! It does seem weird, though, that the Manta will fire on a cherry Woodvil, but it won't fire on a maple one. Dunno.

Thanks for your help!

Get the tube in the bottle cap first. Clockwise screwing (depending on the tides of course) works, but it's a deliberately tight fit to stop leaks. From inside the cap to out is easier btw.

Slide the bottle cap to the botton of your tube, because next, you want to get the long end on the nipple in the Reo and having a bottle cap in the way is annoying. With me so far or having a hot flash?
I find that pushing the tube straight on the Reo works. Finally hold the tube at the bottom of the Reo, where your bottle cap now is and spin the cap up to about an inch from the top, so you can then just screw the bottle on! While every instinct is to pull on the tube - and i know your marriage history - resist!

TL;DR tube thru cap, cap down, tube on Reo, cap up, screw on bottle.

:DActually, I asked this for a friend cuz she's new to Reos and she was embarrassed to ask in here. She was gonna send it in to Rob just to reattach the tube:) so I told her that I'd post the question.

When installing the tube on the 510 pin, sometimes it's easier to have the inside of the tube end, wet with water or VG/juice

Maybe the 510 pin in your atty doesn't protrude enough to make proper contact.

It's the atty and you just unscrew the bottom pin. It's either adjustable or it isn't. No atties are reverse threaded that i know of. Left turn Clyde. Unless there's damage to the insulator in the atty, i cannot think of another reason why it'd not make contact.

    Especially when other atties do.

JUST in case...checking...the adjustable 510 is REVERSE threaded - you recall that yes?
So turning it like you were screwing it IN (or down) is how you actually RAISE the pin if it's too low for your Manta...

This is done intentionally, so that as you tighten an atty, you're not going to turn the pin and lower it (which you wouldn't want, especially if you were tightening an atty...).

Thank you. I tried adjusting, but perhaps didn't adjust enough. I'll try again.
Careful :danger: I have the same problem you have with one of my Cyclones ... very fussy about which mod it will work on
Anyway .. I raised the little screw until it actually fell out :w00t: .. luckily, I found it.
Was a little bugger to get back in.
Good news is I now have a nice hex with a "screwdriver" handle.
Didn't want you to feel alone with a fussy atty.
