Use a thin flat blade screw driver and force it under the spring plate (on the right side of the screw)
Once it's under the spring plate, twist the screwdriver clockwise, popping the plate off the screw.
Of course the spring and screw will need replacing...
Perfect! Done and done! Thank you wise @puffon

Pro tip there! Never had that happen to me before but now I know if it does. ;)

Dang! I’ve got another button cover problem. For some unknown reason the spring loaded button cover just fell off of my P-67. And double dang, it’s a new one that was installed when my P-67 was in the spa getting a new insert recently. I’m a bit baffled as I don’t think I’m a button masher and this mod never leaves my house (or goes in a pocket, etc). I’ve emailed @Eric Parlin but I’m guessing he’s pretty busy right now.

Any ideas? I don’t see any way to get the spring to cooperate with the cover and the button. Tis not the end of the world. Just confusing.

Thanks in advance.

Mine did that a few times I ended up reversing the spring so the circular side was against the body and the open side against the button

Holy Toledo @Vapefiend that was an easy fix! Thank you!! Much appreciated. Took me 2 seconds and now I’m a happy camper. (Someday I hope to be a wise Reonaut-techno-fixer. Until then I’ll just keep hanging out and learning).

I’m not sure why it works but it does. My button presses a lot better with the spring reversed.

Well I got the button cover and spring back on and it has now stayed put for a couple days. I’m thinking I just need to order another one and nurse this one along. (I’m sure everyone was wondering how my button cover was doing..hahaha).

Dental floss fix to the rescue?
Ya know, I tried dental floss a few times in different positions and amounts but just couldn’t get the button to stay on for any length of time. Does dental floss work better on Grand or mini buttons due to the placement of the button?

Eric kindly emailed me and is sending me new covers. (Reos is in good hands). We are both perplexed presently with why I’m having this difficulty but in the big scheme, it’s little stuff. Maybe I’m a closet button masher and I’m in denial about it...:)
