I just read it..it doesn't sound like it went "red hot" it sounds like it was firing by itself..even if it was a malfunction it still should cutoff after about 10 seconds..plus from what I've been reading if it's correct the micro-processor in it has a temperature sensor so if the board got hot it should shut down too.
The poster is a bit suspect to me as they don't list where they live and didn't post for over 2 months..then I always am suspect when I see someone post about a issue and say something about another brand..if you look at there posts before they posted a lot in this brands boards months ago. Seems kind of weird if it happened like the OP said that it fired on it's own when it was sitting 24 hours.
Could be true though as I know of one other that had an issue kind of like that but there have been few issues with the LT compared to how many are out there. If mine ever malfunctions like that I will post it here with a lot of details and probably pics..plus I would pull it apart to find out what was the issue...
