OK, sounds good ... so since I want a single coil to run around 1.5 to 2.0 ..
Which one do I try .. 28 ?? ..(lightning vape has a great sale going right now)
Also, do you wrap it the same as your accustom too, or do you have to compromise w/ss in some way.
single coil that high you'd need 30 or 32g. 1.5 would be 9 wraps of 30g on a 3mm rod 30g is a lot smaller though and I'd hate to see 32g. But like I said, I went 1/2 of what I'd been vaping and it wasn't harsh at all. Play around with it on Steam Engine before you order, and go lower than what you think you'd like. I would send you some, but don't have a roll yet. Someone sent me just a bit to try and I'm sold.

I use a coil master v3 jig and don't do anything different than I do with kanthal. Just roll it, install, pulse til glowing from middle, wick and vape

@Slots I like a restricted draw and I am a flavor chaser too...I found the best build for me is a 0.9-1 ohm using 28 guage with 2.5 mm ID. This gives me very good flavor and a warm (not hot) vape. You might also consider the Scottish roll technique for using organic cotton as a wick too.

Hey, that's my formula too!
Are you guys back to talking Kanthal, or are we still talking SS
In any case I'm going to give the 28 Kanthal a try as you both suggest.
I'm still trying to figure out which size of the SS to buy that will produce close to the same results.
Debaboo says I can get the same with it reading much lower
When it comes to trying the SS, think I will just get two sizes, and start playing:blush:
Thanks again people, you always come thru

@Slots did you check out the steam engine calculator hun? You said you wanted a minimum of a 1.5 ohm coil right? (assuming how kanthal vapes) Since you can go lower with SS3166L you can do a 1 ohm coil, with 28g, on a 3mm ID and 9 wraps. I don't think you'd want to go any lower than 28g. 30g might be good to, but man is that hard to work with. 30 is all I've used for the last year, but I don't ever wanna try to use it again. I just get crosseyed with it.

OK, I ordered some 28 in SS. There was a blank in the sizes of stock and the next size was 34.
So I decided to just play with the 28, and go from there.
OHhh, and I'll be playing with different sizes of Kanthal too, since I have a ton of it.
I'm determine to find a way to kill most of the "hot", and bring back some flavor.

Thanks for the help

kewl! Definitely practice with your draw too though. If a build takes even a second longer to ramp up, that can make a difference. Slow draw. Give that juice a chance to vaporize.

Yup, .. you'd think after 4 years of vaping, that I would know better
But, sometimes I just grab it for a "drag" or two, and vape it like I used to do with the cigs
I guess old habits hang around for a looong time :p
