i've had, ego-twist, vision-spinner, vamo v2, and now provari.
i guess that is the typical trip most vapers go through.

if i were you, i'd cut the chase and go straight to provari.
for whatever reasons, provari enhances the whole vaping experience.
for one, vamo used to give me all kinds of bad experiences, burnt hits, flooding, etc ... but i don't get those with provaris anymore.
there were times i'd get bad hits w/ vamos, makes you wonder if it's from atty or something else, but i been using the same tanks i had w/ vamo and once i switched to provari, all those problems disappeared.

Agreed. I would just go straight to the ProVari too. I wish someone would have told me this up front. It would've saved a lot of $$.

If you want a variable mod in the price range of the vamo I really strongly suggest the Zmax.

I HAVE a Vamo V2. I have had it 10 months and it is still running BUT they are famously fragile so I have babied it. Zmax is just much more solid.

I also have a pair of REOs. You do NOT have to go rebuildable with them. A Plain old fashioned 510 dripping atty works just fine.

My Provari will be arriving tomorrow and my Vamo will go to the vapocalypse box.

Yay! You'll love it. Guaranteed.

I have a couple provari, vamo, zmax and others... I use a REO most. My zmax button died after a couple months (luck of the draw). From a cost perspective the Vamo was $32 and is still working fine. Though I don't like the 510 threading on my Vamo V5 and needing to turn it back on when I change the battery irks me a little. Provari feels nice and is still my favorite regulated tube mod.

I have both the Provari mini (which I use with cartotanks) and the Reo Mini (which I use with the rebuildable RM2 rda, which he makes specifically for use with the Reo). I absolutely love both! The cartotanks are easy load and go, throw them in my purse anyway up, one carto good for around 30mls of juice. I learned (easily) to build micro coils with cotton for the Reo, and just love the flavor of dripping without the hassle (the bottle in the bottom fed Reo feeds the juice up as you press it).

The Reo really is easy to use, and the Provari is foolproof and leakproof imo. They both serve different purposes for me and put an end for me looking for bigger/better/shinier mods! Price between the two is similar, and they both have superb customer service should anything go wrong (here in the US). Both are workhorses imo and well made, reliable, and should last for ever if properly maintained.

No battery device will do anything in and of itself regarding flooding or dry hits. Those issues are caused by whatever delivery device is in use, whether or not the proper voltage is being used for the resistance of the device, wicking, juice viscosity, etc. You can own the best apv known to man and still have issues with flooding or dry hits.

Well I think it really depends on how you like to vape. The tube mods are great if you are a tank user, whether it be rebuildable tanks, carto tanks or clearo tanks.

The Reo is sort of a different animal though. You do not have to build everything with it as you can use cartos or atomizers with it. However it's very popular right now to use it with a RM2 (and for good reason; it's an awesome combo). The biggest difference is that unlike a tank the juice is fresh on your coil each time you take a puff. You simply squeeze more on to your atomizer as you need it.

My personal preference is definitely the Reo but it really depends on how you like to vape which will appeal to you more.

Hello all !

I am back to the vaping for 10 days now ! (so happy).

I always smoked more or less 1,5 pack of cigs a day and 3 years ago I discovered ecigs (I live in Switzerland so back then just nobody ever heard of it). I tried it, starting with the real looking cigarettes (don't remember the name) It was nice but back then the liquids didn't taste good at all and the technology was beyond ....ty but for the time being it was a good replacement from the "analogs". I directely stopped smoking. Then I tried different stuff but mostly Ego derivatives with the reffiling plastic containers, Lo atomizers, etc...
I also discovered great juices like tasty vapor, freedom smokes, rawr vapor, etc, thanks to the forum :).

But then as life goes, a new job, stress and I accidentaly returned to analogs after 5 months (a shaaammme !!!). Then for the last year and a half I've been back to 1,5 pack a day... Until I've found that a shop near me was selling Egos with clearomizers (I never heard about those because I've been out of the ecig world for a long time...) But it was cheap and voilà ! Since ten days I'm cigarette free again (I feel so good !!!!).

But looking at the evolution and great mods around, I am really thinking about investing in a reliable device that will last and that is the less hassle possible. Money is not really a problem (I'm not rich at all but prefer putting money in some stuff that will make me happy than for exemple in a PS4 or a xboxone that look like cheap upgrades to me, plus I don't desperate to see Peggle 2 coming to my trusty 360... Ahahahah).

Anyway I've been viewing videos and comparing a little. The Va:laugh:mo looks good and simple. The Provari looks like outer space .... but amazing too but I'm not sure I willl be so easy to get along with. And my favourite guess is the wooden Reo stuff. it's just beautiful but then it seems to me that it's the most complicated stuff because you have to mess with coils and atomizers and it doesn't come to your mail box all ready to use (or I got it wrong ???)

Thanks in advance for your advices ! Cheers vapers !!!

What kind of shop is it? Is it a place that sells e-cig stuff alone, or is it like a shop that just happend to have a few egos and clearomizers on the side.

They might have vamos; but not likely provaris or reos.

If you got a regular ego you will want to upgrade that to a regulated system. The battery voltage drops off with usage, so you want a device that holds the voltage constant.

I think there's a good chance you can get from your local shop a miniprotank2 and an MVP2. Then you can focus for trying out some eliquids.

Concerning your three listed options:

It sounds as though a Reo is not ideal for your criteria at all. (no rebuilding) Sure, you can use it with regular atty's, but your selling it short of it's potential big time. So no Reo for you.

A Provari is nice, but a bit long in the tooth these days for what it is. I wouldn't be so hot and bothered about warranties either, considering your location is listed as Switzerland... have fun sending that back and forth half way across the world.

A VAMO does it's job fine, for half the price of the Reo or Provari, but it's threads are notoriously bad... it's amazing that little connection still isn't fixed from any of the half dozen manufacturers that make the VAMO. Plus, yes it's just not built like the others.

So....

My :2c:

For about the same price that non-fasttech vendors sell a VAMO, you could get yourself a Nemesis clone and a Kick 2 by Evolv.

It's a soild stainless steel mechanical that will last you years, works in 18350, 18490, and 18650 mode, and accepts the Kick 2 in any of those configurations. It's arguably the best looking option as well. Also, the Kick 2 offers the smoothest regulated vape of them all, being true switch mode DC-DC current. Being a mechanical, the only thing truly just as reliable on your original list is the Reo. You could throw your Nemesis and Kick into a pool, and yes the Kick would be toast, but you'd still be able to just shake off the Nemesis, throw a battery into it, and vape it as a mechanical while waiting for a Kick replacement.

Sounds to me like you'd be happy with any given disposable topper that you narrow down to your liking, that Kick set anywhere from 8-11W, and be set for quite a long time. (see you again in 4 years? LOL)

Here's a link to a US Vendor of the combo I'm talking about, though you'd probably fair better finding these things from a vendor on your side of the pond.

good luck

Listen to trouble1000. I also have all 3 & can tell you the Reo has a Grand which is the large non variable box that holds 6 ml in the tank. The VV Grand is variable but taller then the Grand & uses 2 18350 batteries. The Mini, which I also have is the smallest Reo & uses a 14500 battery. All of these can use any 510 atty that will fit int the well.
The wife has a Vamo that is down until I replace the 510 connection. If you get one of these make sure it is the stainless steel model as the non SS model threads on the 510 will wear out s they are made of brass.
She is now using a Pro Vari with a DBOX Puri tank & she loves it. The coil heads are replaceable with no trouble, but it looks like the threads are also brass & wear out & strip if over tighted.
She has also tried Kangar Pro tanks.
I also have a AC9 & DUD genny, & a Richman Hybrid. These are for those that like to rebuidl & customize things to their sweet spot.
Hope this has not been too much info & confusing.
