Hi Again
Second day with my Mini 2.0

I can't find basic bottom feeder vaping Techniques anywhere.
Found lots of vids on Reo's lots of demos showing people taking first puff or how the mod works etc. but I need beginning step one advice

Tried a atty and can't figure the right amount of liquid so that it works without flooding. How do I know if its bad?
Can't use it at all and would like to.

I am having fair luck with a cartomizer but have no idea how much liquid to pump into it from the squeeze bottle or when to do it and how not to flood it. When it feels dry? Should I wet it first to prime it?

I know this takes time but I am inpatient .

Sorry if this is similar to my other post. Its sort of a continuation.

Thanks again
Larry
You folks are great and very helpfull

Larry,
I'm still pretty new to the Reos as well but here is what is working for me.

With an atty I squonk just enough until I see juice come from the 4 air holes in the catch cup. I'm using a HH.357 atty. I take a couple of small quick draws so I know juice pulled up into the coil. Seems to be working good for me.

I also use the shorty clear cartos. Since it is clear you can easily see when juice has pulled up. I do put about 10 drops in a new carto just to make sure I don't get a dry burn.

I have also noticed if I'm outside and it is hot out that it is much easier to flood the catch cup. Hope this helps some.

Larry, it is not hard to squonk, it just takes awhile to get the hang of when to do it!

I blind squonk. Drove myself crazy looking at the four holes and waiting for juice.

Don't fire, draw and push gently on the bottle. You will feel a little resistance and hear a gurgle. Stop squonking! Ready to vape!

Cartos are put on dry and just blind squonk and vape. Too much and you will get juice in your mouth.

With atty's the blind squonk works well. If it is not producing much vapor then squonk. Just a gentle push on a full bottle, it only takes a second or two.

If you flood it you will get little vapor, lots of gurgles.

I think I overflooded my atty yesterday and possibly ruined it... swapped it out for a new one (Cisco LR306) and am getting huge clouds again. Not sure if the old atty is salvageable... it looks pretty gunky, even after some dry burning.

One thing, be sure not to squonk a hot atty! If you have vaped a few times and then you can tell by drop in taste and vapor that you need to squonk, DON'T!

Take a couple draws without firing to cool down the coil. Then you are ready to squonk.

If you have a multimeter you could test it. Or just put it on and try it again. Over flooding does not usually ruin one. Your juice could get to it after awhile, but not usually one day.

Dude, I believe the catch cup was designed around keeping factory attys from overflowing. I have never seen juice in any catch up on any of my REOs. Up until about a month ago I ran 1.7 ohm cartos exclusively.

Now I only run Rebuilable bottom feed attys. I have never seen juice in the cup or had any type of leakage.

Squonking is pressing the bottle. The REO can be squonked in any position (although I have never tried upside down). Also if the bottle is running real low, you wouldn't want to tip it too far to squonk.

I mainly keep it sorta vertical and squonk.

With cartos, it's easy, like Nerak said, just hit on the REO, while squonking without pressing the fire button. Once you feel slight resistance or hear a little gurgle, your good to go - fire away. Repeat every few pulls. It'll become second nature in no time.

I think you can find all the info you want on these threads. It is simple to run a REO. Don't let it become to complicated. Hassle free, easy peasy!
