REOMIZER 2.0 Initial Review

I have been using Rob's original REOMIZER for five months and I've always thought it to be a terrific vape. I have not had any real problems with it during this time. I solved any leaking issues by putting the "O" ring provided in the well of my REO and sliding a small piece of a carto condom down around the base of the REOMIZER. I have five that I use on a daily basis. One on my VV Grand, one each on my two Grands and one on my 2.1 Mini. Why? Because I can and I like to switch four flavors in my daily vaping. My wife also uses one on her VV Grand. Is it perfect? Sadly it is not. The screw heads are painfully small especially for these old eyes. The posts are a bit flimsy even though I have never broken one, and if you drop it the top cap can fly off. If you do not take the afore mentioned precautions it will tend to leak. That being said Rob has created the REOMIZER 2.0 to deal with these and any others issues and the following is my humble opinion of this new RBA.

Appearance:

I have never been one who favored form over function but I do like my PV's to look nice. I think this is a pretty sharp looking atty. It's a little bit shorter and a bit fatter than the original REOMIZER with a flat top rather than tapered. The only slight criticism I can make is that when screwed on the polished chrome portion of the atty does not meet flush with the top of the well of the Grand thereby leaving about 1/8" of brass exposed. Not a problem for me but others might be more picky.

Build Quality:

This feels to be a more solid construction. The posts are shorter and thicker and feel stronger. The screw heads are much larger and therefore a lot easier to deal with. The threads are smoother, I won't say buttery smooth, but it is easier to screw the base into the cap. The top cap appears to be one piece construction. Only time will tell whether or not it will hold up to extreme bashing.

Ease of Mounting the Wick and Coil:

I always used a "Z" coil on the original REOMIZER as I liked the wick to be directly over the juice hole. The REOMIZER 2 seems to require a side mount.
The posts are short and nicely spaced apart and in a side mount both ends of the wire face the same way and are easy to get through the holes in the posts. The screw heads are real large and it's easy to secure the wire

Leaking and Flooding:

The thing I liked most about the original REOMIZER was that it was almost impossible to flood. For me this was of tantamount importance because my wife, bless her heart, would either flood or fry any and all attys and cartos she used. My wife also does nothing but vape, in that I mean, I buy the devices and liquids, charge and install the batteries and refill the juice bottles and of course replace the attys when they are fried or flooded. As I said she just vapes. I am therefore very happy to report that the REOMIZER 2 also appears to be almost impossible to flood. In fact I tried real hard by squonking twice without vaping and when I did hit it there was no gurgling or flooding. This makes me real happy. The unit has not leaked a drop in two days of constant use. There is a lip that encompasses the base making it a sort of cup that contains the excess liquid. It then must return down the hole into the bottle because when I remove the cap there is very little liquid In this cup.

Vape Experience:

The REOMIZER 2 hits like a tank as did the original REOMIZER. With the right coil and wick you will get great vapor, throat hit and flavor. I have never been fortunate enough to vape the Chalice, ERA, HORNET or Killer 705, but I would be hard pressed to believe that they could provide more pure vaping joy than the REOMIZER 2.

In summation with the improved build quality and leaking issues resolved I think Rob has come up with an RBA that he will be happy to sell for a long time to come.

PS: My wife doesn't get this one until I can save some money to buy two more. Then this RBA will get a true test of its durability.

This seems in conflict what Rob told me. I bought a Woodvil at his last sale and that drip well is too small to fit the original reomizer I have now. Rob assured me the 2.0 will fit so I guess Im not sure what you mean by "a bit fatter"?

Great review by the way...thanks!

If you look at the bottom Gil, you can see there is a smaller post that threads in the connector. It is what Rasci was talking about when he said the Chrome part leaves a gap between it and the drip well. That smaller post is brass.

Rob milled down the atomizer to fit in a variety of mods hence the brass bottom but the top is a little bit fatter.

Day Three: Wrapped ab 8/9 28ga coil that metered out to 1 ohm around cotton ball. Absolutely a terrific vape. It was easy to mount (love those big screws). I do believe it is a slightly warmer vape than the original REOMIZER. This of couse could be my imagination because I am wrapping new coils and a new coil always hits better. Not a hint of any juice anywhere. So far, for me, best RBA I've tried.

I just realized something. In my OP I said that I really liked the original REOMIZER and I of course meant it. However, it was not completely trouble free. In other words you had to fiddle with it to avoid leakage and even then when you took it off the REO there would be juice in the well and around the atty. What I realized was that after 3 1/2 years years of vaping I just got used to fiddling with everything with the exception of the REO's. Now, with the REOMIZER 2 on top of a REO, except for wrapping coils, what am I going to do?

That's a nice "problem" to have!
Here are a few RBA related things you can do:
Precut lengths of Kanthal.
Preheat the precut lengths.
Wrap em into coils for future use.

Sounds even more boring than being bored doesn't it?

Enjoy your free time :)

You're right. Let's see I can:

Cur six hundred pieces of Kanthal
Torch above wire. Oops, I have to go buy another Bic Lighter
Wrap six hundreds coils
Tear about 50 canton balls apart and roll them

Don't tell me, I've nothing to do

Or I could count flowers on the wall

Well i just recieved and set up my reomizer 2.0. I did a micro coil with about 4-5 wraps around a cotton ball wick using 32 gauge a1 kanthal. I'm currently vaping Red Tail Honey Tobacco WTA at 24mg. So far so good, a bit of an airy draw but other than that I'm very pleased. My multi meter is garbage but I'm guessing that its about 2.1 ohms on my Mini 2.1. I like it quite a bit. The brass fitting does show above the juice well but that is a minor complaint. Clouds of vapor!

Can't really comment on the draw because I light it lighter. I think if you have a 4/5 wrap with 32ga Kanthal it should be closer to 1.6 ohms. Yeah, clouds of vapor.

I got mine about 15 minutes ago. 30ga kanthal, @ 8 wraps, meters at 1.7 ohm. Voluminous clouds of vapor, and so far, no flooding at all. So, just quick and dirty, here's my thoughts.

Ease of building/attaching coils: a bit above average, it IS nice and roomy and the ceramic base is a plus. Nice big phillips head screws are GREAT!

Vapor production: quite good, this is the first rebuildable I'm actually getting better vapor than disposables (VK 1.8 ohm)

Ease of squonking: has to be 10, most of my others are quite prone to flooding, and with RBA's, I find it's better to err on the side of more rather than less

Overall performance/cost: 9

It's all subjective, and I can't be sure my coils are *exactly* the same, but I think they're pretty consistant. I've used the Reomizer 1, A7, and ERA, this is easily the best so far (with ERA in 2nd place).

Rocks x 10, if it doesn't self destruct in the next few days, I'll be ordering another (or two).

NICE job, Robert, you da man! This one looks to be a winner :)

You're review was better than mine and you used 1/3 of the verbiage. Great job.

Not at all, in fact, I liked yours better, but I was in a hurry 'cause I got all excited LOL

And despite telling myself I'd wait and see how well it holds up, it appears to be rock solid, so I just ordered another one!

I'm completely amazed, haven't flooded it yet OR gotten a single dry hit. Now THIS is how an RBA is supposed to work. Another tip of the hat I'm not wearing to the mod master, Rob. (who by now, may well be thinking he doesn't have enough of these in stock...and I agree LOL)
