REOMIZER 2.0 Initial Review
I have been using Rob's original REOMIZER for five months and I've always thought it to be a terrific vape. I have not had any real problems with it during this time. I solved any leaking issues by putting the "O" ring provided in the well of my REO and sliding a small piece of a carto condom down around the base of the REOMIZER. I have five that I use on a daily basis. One on my VV Grand, one each on my two Grands and one on my 2.1 Mini. Why? Because I can and I like to switch four flavors in my daily vaping. My wife also uses one on her VV Grand. Is it perfect? Sadly it is not. The screw heads are painfully small especially for these old eyes. The posts are a bit flimsy even though I have never broken one, and if you drop it the top cap can fly off. If you do not take the afore mentioned precautions it will tend to leak. That being said Rob has created the REOMIZER 2.0 to deal with these and any others issues and the following is my humble opinion of this new RBA.
Appearance:
I have never been one who favored form over function but I do like my PV's to look nice. I think this is a pretty sharp looking atty. It's a little bit shorter and a bit fatter than the original REOMIZER with a flat top rather than tapered. The only slight criticism I can make is that when screwed on the polished chrome portion of the atty does not meet flush with the top of the well of the Grand thereby leaving about 1/8" of brass exposed. Not a problem for me but others might be more picky.
Build Quality:
This feels to be a more solid construction. The posts are shorter and thicker and feel stronger. The screw heads are much larger and therefore a lot easier to deal with. The threads are smoother, I won't say buttery smooth, but it is easier to screw the base into the cap. The top cap appears to be one piece construction. Only time will tell whether or not it will hold up to extreme bashing.
Ease of Mounting the Wick and Coil:
I always used a "Z" coil on the original REOMIZER as I liked the wick to be directly over the juice hole. The REOMIZER 2 seems to require a side mount.
The posts are short and nicely spaced apart and in a side mount both ends of the wire face the same way and are easy to get through the holes in the posts. The screw heads are real large and it's easy to secure the wire
Leaking and Flooding:
The thing I liked most about the original REOMIZER was that it was almost impossible to flood. For me this was of tantamount importance because my wife, bless her heart, would either flood or fry any and all attys and cartos she used. My wife also does nothing but vape, in that I mean, I buy the devices and liquids, charge and install the batteries and refill the juice bottles and of course replace the attys when they are fried or flooded. As I said she just vapes. I am therefore very happy to report that the REOMIZER 2 also appears to be almost impossible to flood. In fact I tried real hard by squonking twice without vaping and when I did hit it there was no gurgling or flooding. This makes me real happy. The unit has not leaked a drop in two days of constant use. There is a lip that encompasses the base making it a sort of cup that contains the excess liquid. It then must return down the hole into the bottle because when I remove the cap there is very little liquid In this cup.
Vape Experience:
The REOMIZER 2 hits like a tank as did the original REOMIZER. With the right coil and wick you will get great vapor, throat hit and flavor. I have never been fortunate enough to vape the Chalice, ERA, HORNET or Killer 705, but I would be hard pressed to believe that they could provide more pure vaping joy than the REOMIZER 2.
In summation with the improved build quality and leaking issues resolved I think Rob has come up with an RBA that he will be happy to sell for a long time to come.
PS: My wife doesn't get this one until I can save some money to buy two more. Then this RBA will get a true test of its durability.
