I've mellowed with age, otherwise, I'd have a long list here.

I've come to accept that "my way" is just a different point of view, and there are many millions of them.

I guess my pet peeves cover a lot of the scenarios we see:

1) people w/out critical thinking skills and/or thoughtfulness enough to take the time to see, understand, and consider, "the other side of the coin" (and the edges of the coin, too) in sitautions---- before standing ever so righteously and chest-thumping their own POV

2) selfish, self-absorbed people ("I'm the only person in the universe and only my comfort, etc. matters")

I think the longer you live, and if you're gaining any "smarts" in the process, the more you really understand "walk a mile in my shoes". Until that happens, its real easy to be smug. But Life humbles us all. And be thankful if and when that does happen, because then you've been *improved*. :)

...... who come to the forum saying "I don't own a Reo but here's how to improve it..."
\

Oh, wait, I do have another pet peeve and this reminded me of it: name-calling :)

Okay MrAllen, I do realize you were being humorous, but I really don't want to "target" that guy, he had less than 100 posts too, probably a newbie

I read that guy's post.....he was just looking at it and without using it (which he admitted) I took his post to contain "stuff he was wondering about" just looking at the design. This is something an architectural or engineering student might engage in, I mean, I could see merely showing an object to a class and asking if any design flaws are apparent?

We all know that there are some wonky looking bridges and buildings, and even tools........but they WORK.

Until MB actually uses a REO, he won't "get" that part, but he was just offering a perspective based on "looking at it", and he said that in his post. He admitted he hasn't used it.

Understand that for a lot of people, esp. newbies, they are wondering outloud if they should spend $144+ on a mod, since there is all this cheap stuff available from Hong Kong. The best way to "bring them into the fold" is certainly not by calling them ...... though, even in jest. :(

Do you think he will feel "comfortable" with us now? I doubt it.

And +1 on people blocking the aisle in grocery stores. Drives me crazy.

Super Walmart in a small southern town is a "meet n' greet" ... an actual social event. You would go nuts at our super walmart. :)

the other little grocery is worse. The deli manager is listening to an elderly woman explaining how "Dan" is recuperating from his most recent heart attack----- and believe me, you just do NOT bust in and start ordering your sliced turkey when that is happening.

We can tell the people who moved here from out there if they "beep" at you when you don't step on the gas fast enough at the red light. Beeping is actually considered rather rude in circumstances like that around here.

It makes you slow down, stop and smell the roses, and realize that people are really important and 3 minutes saved at the red light really ain't a big deal.

Or maybe I"m in denial and just trying to justify it. :) But I moved to slow places after living in places like NYC, and was kinda THRILLED to slow way down.

Toilet paper must roll off the top or dont even bother putting it on the roll I dont care either way so long as it doesnt roll off the bottom
My mayonnaise jar do not get anything else in the jar Same goes for peanutbutter NO jam in it same goes for any food do not cross contaminate I dont care if its all going on the same piece of bread it goes on by itself and can mix on the bread not in the container

C'mon, he wasn't wondering, he was critical and offensive about the construction of the REO and its absurd to imagine his thread any other way.

I don't shop at my local Walmart (to busy) and I avoid all big box stores, unless it is when they first open. Five years ago I fell and I have an annular tear in a disc, and the vertabrae below is transitional (which basically means that I suffer from nerve pain that runs down my leg). If I walk or stand too long my foot goes numb and the shooting pain gets worse. I wasn't the most patient person to begin with when I was shopping, but this condition has left me much more impatient ( I'm kinda afraid of what'll happen as I get older, I'm only 33).

Darrel I'm talking two lane highways going the speed limit.

Very good then. I was kinda just joshing you :) Although it is a peeve of mine people holding up traffic. If they can't do the limit then move over let me go by. I used to be a real lead foot but now am pretty much glued to the limit. My lively hood depends on my licence.

You must not have any cats :p at least not ones that, like mine, think a roll of toilet paper exists purely for their amusement

Every roll of toilet paper in my house is on the roll "the wrong way"

No cats here. As I posted earlier cats are for the entertainment of my dogs and I couldn't afford to be replacing them too often

One of my biggest pet peeves are when you are nice enough to stop and let someone cross the road and wave to let them cross, then they don't wave to say thank you OR they mosey their way across the road at a snails pace. Drives me absolutely crazy.

I also hate the do as I say not as I do people. I hate being told I can't do something and then a few minutes later they are doing the exact same thing I was told not to do. (this happens a lot being in the military)

Also hate it when people walk around like they are entitled to do whatever they want. Especially at the grocery store when someone doesn't stop before exiting an aisle and just walk out in front you. OK GO RIGHT AHEAD I'LL WAIT ON YOU.

As you can tell I don't have a lot of patience for people. I like to hurry up and finish things I have to do and not wait on people to finish them. That's when I remember: Keep Calm Chive On

Stat, you hit it exactly! I make sure the roll in my bathroom goes "the wrong way" just because it's less temptation for the cats! Although, in all fairness none of ours have ever played with the TP. It's purely precautionary. :p
