I dont mind using the PG/EM blend, stashed a handful of 8ml vials when it disappeared from TPA. The current WL stock didnt last long (theyre out again), and this time they've removed the entry from the flavor lineup. MFS is still stocking, picked up a couple of 30ml.

How is it listed on MFS

Tks, how does this compare with the Azure...

Very, very weak. The tobacco Blend from MFS is really just a tobacco flavoring that is meant to be used at 2-10%. The real TA from Azure is to be used very sparingly, like a drop at a time, even after diluting it to 10% as suggested in Azure's description.

Azure is nicotiana rustica (aztec tobacco, mapacho), so its not a type of tabacum typically used in cigarettes and cigars, its a completely different species. As far as the leaf itself, rustica can contain up to 9% nicotine where the typical tabacum species contain only 1-2%, making it a potent, strong tobacco. I havent been bold enough to try the azure yet, even the tabacum-based TA can leave a heavy feeling like I smoked too many cigars, but thats exactly why I like it. It gives just enough of a real-cig sort of feel, and I probably overuse it in too many mixes, but I sure would miss it if it wasnt there.

I'll preface this post by saying that I'm not educated whatsoever on tobacco types and tobacco absolutes, but the Azure site says their absolute is made via Bulgarian tobacco as opposed to the Aztec tobacco you mention. Where can I purchase the heavier hitting absolute that you mention in your post?

Ok so its not the Azure thats the rustica its the samara botane...
TOBACCO ABSOLUTE: Samara Botane Aromatic Apothecary, the description is confusing because at the bottom it says "INCI Name: Nicotiana tabacum leaf extract". It only mentions "growing practice: ethical" which makes me wonder if it's even suitable... is ethical "organic" and were any pesticides used? It doesnt really say. I never tried rustica absolutes or extracts but I have smoked it and it made me as dizzy/queasy as if I had smoked 10 cigars all at once. What made me shy away from it was in the description of samara it mentions "Drydown is cigar-like with slightly fruity animal dung notes" ... lmao.

Yeah the Azure TA sounds good, and looks like the original TA I've gotten before. Ordered a couple vials, thanks! Whats the consensus on dilution, further dilution using PGA or can I use PG? The stuff I used before was difficult to dilute in PG but it did work.

If you're starting with a pre-diluted TA, you can use PG pretty effectively, as long as you're willing to shake the bejesus out of it, or warm the PG mixture in a cup of hot water (like warm steeping).
Nonetheless, I still think PGA or clean liquor like vodka (40%/80 Proof, no flavors, no sugar) will work best, especially on pure TA.
VG is all but impossible to get it to mix evenly, most folks I know doing it switch back to alcohol after the first attempt. Plus, with alcohol you can more easily mix in other flavorants like ethyl maltol or sweetener.
If you now you're always going to use a particular alcohol-BASED flavoring (like a chocolate, vanilla or caramel note), then you can sub out all or part of that for the PGA instead. Alcohol based flavorings, surprise surprise, behave just as well :)

Thanks for the tips Raenon!
I picked up a couple 1.5ml vials of your TA. It is great!!! Have a large bottle of your undiluted stuff on the way as well.

I used Everclear 151 proof to dilute mine. It worked good.
I have some 191 proof on the way as well. I guess I'll have the drink the rest of my 151 as I won't need it after the strong stuff shows up!

Guys, mixing this stuff down into PG would be a pain. As Raenon suggested, get some strong clear booze to dilute it down. It's so easy and fast.
What ever you do, don't use isopropyl alcohol.

All this chat about TA being hard to find or in short supply made me crazy enough to pop into Azure Vaping for 1 1.5 ml vial Tobacco absolute to see what the fuss is all about. Well, since I was there, Bavarian Cream DIY Flavoring 6ml & Chocolate Malt DIY Flavoring 6ml even though I wasn't going to buy anymore flavors for a while.

I don't vape tobacco flavors very often. My still smoking friends have forced me into making tobacco flavors good enough to help them switch to vaping. TA may be a key ingredient to my success, so why take chances?

Bavarian Cream was on my short list to buy next. Chocolate Malt, why not try something new? That might add a new twist to espresso.

I just received my 15ml bottle of Tobacco Absolute from Samara Botine. Aromatherapy Products, Essential Oils, Spa and Skin Care: Samara Botane/Nature Intelligence
What I bought is Product Code 15322.

It came with a paper that that says...
This is our new shipment of Tobacco Absolute (as of December 2013). This is from the leaves of Nicitaina Rustica, or wild tobacco from Paraguay. According to our supplier, it contains about 7% nicotine... At room temperature, this product is a solid. It melts at around 90 degrees F.

I warmed the bottle in a pan of hot water and mixed a 50/50 mixture of PG and TA. It does not want to totally dissolve totally. My mix looks black, but if I hold my glass bottle up to the light I can see that the liquid is a very dark green/brown. I hope it dissolves better after a day or two of shaking (I wish I had one of those automatic shakers now).

I am looking forward to trying it, but it will probably be a few days before I get a chance. When I mix my next batch (I mixed about 1/4 of my 15ml already in the PG) I will try Everclear instead of PG.

That's a strong mix! I dilute 3 drops of TA into 10ml of EM (diluted). Plain PG can be used in place of EM but I've always mixed my TA like that. I'm thinking a 50/50 mix will knock your socks off unless the Rustica is much weaker than the Tabacum we've been using. There will always be some sediment, even when mixed at 3 drops per 10ml. Always shake well before adding it to your recipe.
