Hi ECF,
First thread, long time lurker, +1 year long vaper breaking post-shyness tonight.
So my coworker wants to quit smoking and switch over to ecigs. Problem is, in the past, she has made unsuccessful attempts with various eGo devices which were ultimately unsatisfying for her. She knows what ecigs look like that actually put out, but is turned off by the 18650 tube and box shaped mods. Let's be honest, this stuff we love can get a little ridiculous looking for those who are unfamiliar with the whole thing.
Maybe I am not asking for assistance as much as I am venting.
Here goes...
Why isn't there a humbler looking device that performs? Why aren't 14500 devices or smaller form factor batteries more common? Why does the best performing entry-level device Aspire nautilus look like a space ship? Why can't there be a satisfying entry-level setup on the market that doesn't look obnoxious, strange, or unusual? Is it that much of a pain to make something simple and elegant? There is likely a surprisingly large market for it.
In order to switch from smoking cigarettes, I had to hold a device in my hand with a relatively strange appearance and honestly in the beginning I felt stupid. I loved what I got out of it, but I just felt silly holding this thing in public. Granted I got over that and now I own a plethora of much sillier looking things
But I feel like that is a part of the market that hasn't been focused on: adults who want a cigarette alternative that doesn't look like they're having a mid-life crisis.
